Wow, these are probably in rough shape, so make sure you go through and pick out some nice ones. I can't image the hot topic crowd being kind to comics.

Actually...these are usually in decent shape b/c they wrap them in plastic and have a cardboard back behind them. From the stores that I've been to, they're usually stacked up in a pile.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to keep an eye out this week for it.

That's good to know. The only time I was in Hot Topic was out of curiosity about five years ago and I came in with just one piercing and no tattoos and left with 5 piercings and a tattoo of Herve Villechaize on my right cheek. Strange place.

The plane! The plane!

Yeah it's an interesting place... Last time I was there the cashier was having a 1-woman rave behind the counter.

On Comic Book Scalping one of the posters mentioned the comic being pulled from the shelves because of the ad on the back - potentially because of the Grey Hulk figure. So if you don't see the book on the shelves you may want to ask about it.

Was far more interesting 20 years ago (wasn't everything?) when it catered more to the goth crowd. Ah, memories.

So the Hot Topic's in my area (San Diego) pulled the issues do to some type of misprint and didn't sell any. Anyone have any news? This could really bump the value.

I have a friend who works there. I can ask her in the morning and report back if you'd like.

That'd be great. It would make sense seeing there is only a few on eBay.

Yeah pulled because of an early ad..which makes me wonder if the only reason they're selling for so high is because they were pulled. Now what happens to the price once they're readily available again? Price drop? Since stores were already notified I think the only way of flipping these is unless you grabbed some early before they caught on .. That's my theory..i could be wrong but I have a feeling prices will steady out once the book is out on shelves again. Or is there some secret hot topic star wars cult

They were pulled, put in the back, and will be put back out at a later date. So once they get put back out it should kill the inflated value as the issues won't change and most stores got a nice supply of these.

So not really a recall from what I can find out, if that helps.

Curiouser and curiouser. If they were indeed destroyed original printings have the potential to skyrocket in value. If they are just being held they won't. This could prove quite interesting as stores seem to be receiving conflicting directions, at least for the moment.

Also by "destroyed" you might want to dumpster dive the malls garbage bin. I used to work at gamestop. We got told to destroy stuff all the time. We just threw it out. Someone else indicated these are wrapped in cellophane so they might survive being tossed.

I found one copy yesterday. The cashier looked in the store inventory and saw that they had one in the back. It rang up so I bought it. I haven't taken it out of the bag, though. Anybody have a pic of this controversial ad?

I just called 10 stores in my area and they all informed me they got sent back to cooperate.

They will not be selling them at all from what I'm being told.

Let the price on these rise.

There was a seller on eBay that sold 10 copies in the last hour. Wonder if he's thinking what the rush was.

try and get one on ebay for $30ish, if possible, if it's true they were recalled, the price on these will skyrocket.
