Yeah both will be good to have around. But we’re definitely not going to want to have to use either very often

Can’t wait for a full season of Cousins

The offensive line has looked horrid today. They haven't given Cousins any time to throw. Pair that with Murray's awful showing and the offense hasn't looked good today.

I like that they made this happen right away instead of waiting until the end of preseason. I had my money on them cutting Forbath right after the 3rd preseason game, but this works too! You just can't consistently miss extra points in this league, so hopefully Carlson can be our guy at the K position so we don't have to constantly worry about that part of the game!

I expected Carlson to win the job. You don't pick a kicker in the 5th and not keep him around.

Oh, for sure! You could see it in Forbath's face everytime him or Carlson kicked.

I just want to not have to seriously question what's about to happen whenever we're lining up for a FG/XP

It's the Vikings. That feeling will never go away.

I like the Iloka signing. Especially since Sendejo will likely get a suspension at some point this season.

That's awesome. Another safety wasn't really a big need, but this guy is one of the better ones out there, so why not? Makes the team better and gives us more depth on D

Really the only thing that's left to do is find a way to improve the O-line. I know that's much easier said than done, though, so I would't be surprised if we don't do anything major there. Either way, we still have a great team and I can't wait for the season

Not a fan of Robison being released when he can play both inside and outside on the line. Im guessing they were impressed with Jalyn Holmes and Odenigbo on the outside throughout the preseason.

Loved having him on the team, but right now the Vikings have a a really good problem when you can justify releasing a player of Robison's caliber due to having a surplus of young defensive players with just as much talent.

First, thanks and good luck to B-Rob.

Second, Newman announced his retirement. Will join the staff effective immediately.

I made this Randy Moss highlight clip yesterday. I added the "one clap" video at the end. I originally put it in the Randy Moss thread but thought you guys might like it as well. Im a Pats fan so im a little biased and made his thumbnail in a Pats uni but we can share his greatness!

Just shows the depth of the Vikings that two productive players can be released/retire. Newman was an ageless wonder and Robison a steady rotational player who could play DE and DT on passing downs.

Quigley released? That one's confusing. I thought he has done an awesome job pinning punts

Just looking at stats, it looks like Wile was averaging about 12 yards more on his punts than Quigley...but Wile is relatively untested (I think he punted in one game two season ago?). He does have some placekicking experience though, so maybe the Vikings are thinking of him as an insurance policy if Carlson were to get hurt or something like that?

Overall decent first drive. Cook looked pretty good! The line is going to be the key, but no surprise there at all

That right there is a huge reason why moving from Keenum to Cousins was a great move. Case was just too iffy with the deep balls whereas Cousins can throw some real beauties. Him paired with Diggs and Thielen is going to be really, really fun
