Great morning with my boys, goddaughter and bff. We went to a pumpkin festival. We witnessed a hit and run while driving home. Due to the flow of traffic we were unable to stop. I was able to get the drivers license plate and I called it in.

I really like Connecticut. The wife thinks highly of it too. Maybe we'll move there sometime. I had a nice relaxing breakfast Sunday morning in New London by the train station. It was so nice watching trains and the ferries.

Looks like my laptop might be done. It took some updates Friday night at the hotel and then Saturday night it would go about 5 minutes before it would freeze. Thankfully I moved the pictures from Friday night back onto my camera so I can save them just in case the laptop needs a rebuild. Of course I don't have any Windows 10 media though since the companies are too cheap to send disks anymore when you purchase a computer.

The NJ State Firemen's Association Convention was awesome Saturday. Started off taking pictures of chief's cars and utilities in the parking lots and leaving my business card on every fire department windshield I could find. I managed to sneak into the members only convention area by saying I forgot my firemen's card in my car. To be honest, the only reason I did it was to get buy some stuff from the convention but after inside, I realized that stuff was across the street on the ball fields. I did get a free shirt and didn't vote in the office elections although I could have cast one since I was inside.

I ended up buying a cool convention shirt for myself and one for my Step Daughter. I also bought an awesome fire department shirt of the first due D.C. Department to the White House. It has "Trump Tower" on it with a picture of the fire department's tower apparatus.

I hung out with the firemen and women from Erma Volunteer Fire Company at the parade. They hosted 2 trucks from College Park, MD, who came for the parade, and thought it was cool I was from MD too. Parade lasted about the same as the MD one. Of course something went wrong with the camera and the first hour is gone.

I took lots of great pictures though.

I did manage to meet up with my friend from middle school that I hadn't seen in 31 years.

Saturday afternoon/night drive to New London, CT sucked. It took me 50 minutes to get across the George Washington Bridge in NYC. Then traffic was backed up on the Cross Bronx Expressway due to an accident in the left lane.

Finally got to my hotel after 9PM.

The Connecticut State Firemen's Association Convention Parade on Sunday was awesome. Hoping the video came out OK. I set up with an old brick factory behind me and the sound of the marching bands was awesome reverberating off it. This parade had want I expected in the Yorktown 4th of July Parade; lots of Colonial fife and drum bands. They even had a bunch of guys pulling a mini cannon and firing it. Loud and awesome! Saw my first truck from Rhode Island in the parade too so that made trucks from 3 new States this trip.

Took forever to get home. You would think it was still summertime, vacation traffic out there. I-95 through CT was all stop and go. Of course the George Washington Bridge was backed up again. I finally managed to get home at 8:45PM.

We went to a pumpkin festival yesterday and they had the Middletown Fire Department trucks and Police there. My oldest and I checked them out while my youngest got his face painted. My son got to speak with the officer and see inside his cruiser.

We went to OC NJ on Saturday.

Had a good time, wasn't crowded and traffic wasn't an issue.
