There goes your argument.

Glad you realize wins mean absolutely nothing (Yes I see your sarcasm, your sarcasm is actually the correct logic though)

So far; the voting has been in line with expectations. 6/6 in terms of chalk.

Does tomorrow buck the trend?

I am a huge White Sox fan, and a big Sale fan as well. I was hoping he would get his first this year, but honestly Sale has struggled nearly his whole career with taking his performance through the end of the year. He always seems to fall apart in September, and it bit him again. Hopefully he will put it all together soon enough.

Was anyone truly surprised? I knew there was going to be outrage when I saw people on twitter arguing that not just ERA/Wins, but wins in games Kershaw started.

Gio Gonzalez was 2nd in WAR, why wasn't he in the top 3? Kershaw was 6th in WAR, so obviously it isn't about WAR. ERA does still mean something, wins not so much. It is just that people look at other stats such as WHIP, FIP and strikeouts, all of which Scherzer was better than Kershaw. The issue is you only want to consider the only two stats that Kershaw was better and ignore all the others where Max was better. For the AL, Sale led in FIP (which is why he led in fWAR and Kluber in bWAR) and strikeouts, Kluber led in pretty much everything else. The winners were the two pitchers that had the better overall resumes, not the guy who leads in the 2 areas you want to cherry pick.

I'm not sure thats all the way true yet.
Of course they should be aware, but people also need to remember that itís not just about one number. WAR is not a standalone stat at all. It needs to be considered in context with the rest of a playerís stats, both traditional and advanced metrics.

Glad to see Kluber win his second, incredibly deserving. With two CYAs on his resume (and two other outstanding seasons), I think he's a quality five year stretch away from a good shot at Cooperstown. That's a big "if" but interesting to think about.
No, the fWAR leader lost to the bWAR leader. That should tell you what the experts consider the more accurate metric. Just ask Nate Silver.

No question. Only Clemens has accomplished the same feat without getting in.

Understanding the difference between the two is crucial.
