Frankly, I did not want to pay the money for them to just be slabbed authentic.

Wow that's a tough break man. I wonder how they decide to stop grading something once they have already begun? Hope you already had them and didn't just recently cut up a magazine for the purpose of grading. How do you think this affects the ones already graded? Just that more rare and more valuable in your eyes, or do you think it hurts them?

Well the grades will be impossible to top for sure from the 1985s, might be good for the owner of the Road Warriors card but overall I think this will make the set tank in general. I could have had these authenticated with an "authentic" label but I just wanted to keep my money instead of paying the fees. I bought the magazine to grade them but I can sell as singles as they make great cards to get signed.

I have an 82 all stars Heenan that isn't in overall horrible shape, but is off centered. The left hand border has a yellow line from the next card. It appears that I have the opportunity to get it signed for $15 in January and think I am going to jump on the opportunity. I am envious of your signed All Stars. That is an awesome accomplishment.

Do you personally have any intent of trying to build a signed 85 set (at least all of the living guys), or any other big autograph set plans? Or are you fairly content with the signed all stars? With all of the guys tragically passing away so young, that will a hard set to ever even come close to topping in my eyes, personally as a wrestling fan and collector. There are some guys who might prefer other sets, but for me even being a huge Leaf Originals collector, I would prefer to own a complete set of the signed All Stars to a complete master set of the Leafs complete w 1/1 blacks.

The Heenan is a tough card to find without the yellow on the side. I would get one signed or you can hear a sales pitch from me via PM......I'm teasing.....

I don't think that I have much interest in going after the 1985 set. I may take a little break from working on a signed wrestling card set for a little bit. I would like to get the Popy cards signed by Dory, Stan, Terry, Harley, and of course Hulk if I can ever find a card. The Japanese guys are extremely tough so I am unsure if I would ever get those and I would think that there is a decent chance that Andre may not have signed his card. That is the way that it goes. I'd like to get some of the 1976 Yamakatsu cards signed if I could ever find a good supply of them but they are pretty tough and unfortunately Brisco passed away a few years ago. It would be great to get the Funks to sign those tough cards from Japan and Harley Race. There is an Abdullah in there too. Overall, I am not sure if I will take on the challenge of a set but perhaps some tough to find cards. Time will tell. I have enough projects right now that I am unsure of taking on something huge. I'd like to tie up a lot of loose ends........

I realize that went farther then it should have yesterday so I am trying to be the bigger man and move on lol. We don't agree on everything and we won't but that is life, it doesn't change my overall respect for you.

I would have to agree with you I think getting those cards from Japan signed by The Funks and Race would be awesome. I am personally hoping that some of those guys wind up in the next Leaf Originals set myself. The main reason I am a huge fan and collector is the fact it gave me on card autos of a lot of guys I never had the opportunity to before. Here's to the next set giving us a certified Dory and a certified Stan Hansen autograph, and good luck to you if you decide to get some of those popy cards signed. The photos are awesome and I think they would make great collectables. I am personally partial to that Race, but every one of them you could track down would be nice.

I think one of the draws for me is to pull tough base cards that may not have been signed ever, or very few at the most, and get those signed. People seem to find a lot of signed cards out of Classic and Topps, etc and I just want my stuff to be unique. I love presenting a wrestler with an item and have them hesitate for a moment before signing or making a comment about the item. That is probably why I am not into signed photos. It just seems a bit too simple. A part of being a collector is the chase, and that makes it all fun for me.

Great grades on the 1987 Wonderama Dusty/Tully and Ron Simmons card--are those the only PSA 9 in the set so far

Yes, they are. Pretty pumped to have them in that high of a grade. I am actually pretty excited for any PSA 8s as well. It would be fun to put together a graded set, just do not know if I am up for it at all. Pretty rare to find the singles needed to do so.

Congrats on the 87s. Those are definitely hard to find in any condition leg alone a 9!

I also don't really understand how they could have labeled the 87s wrong when you subbed the 88s in the same order... Unless they didn't even look at the backs... Haha. The differences are far from subtle between the 2.

Don't forget the Eddie Gilbert and Sting too! I think a 1987 Sting in a PSA 9 can do very well.

PSA 8's are the average, only 3 PSA 9's and no PSA 10's.

Is centering throwing the grades off?

Maybe an average of those subbed, but not average at all. There are all kinds of issues and when you have a set of 50 you may be able to pick out 10 cards for grading but the others would not be worthy of being subbed. There is still a lot of quality control issues with these cards that are no longer the case with modern cards out of packs. It would be really fun to have a set of these graded. I just don't know if I would be able to do it and thus not sure I will ever start trying.

Default graded Andres.....

I have some others that need to be slabbed.

Crease on back of the card but no paper loss and looks awesome! looks better than the PSA 5 with the corner ding.

I am the one who started the Andre Master set on the PSA Registry, I will never complete it if you keep adding these rare cards to the set. But in all seriousness great cards.

Thanks for adding the set, maybe we can make a trade down the line if you have some items I need. Best of luck to your sets!

How were those Wonderama cards distributed? Were they just sold in certain parts of the country.
I only own a few of them. Mostly Jimmy Valiant and Ivan Koloff singles. The photography is so unique. Some pictures used on cards are so off. Where wrestler is just only in small part of the shot. Or way in the corner and just see crowd. Would never see that today. Makes set unique in weird shots chosen for some of the cards. Looks like photos some random fan would take on some.
