Yikes. I don’t have much of a problem with card savers but I certainly do have a problem with not at least putting them in sleeves first.

Penny sleeves do absolutely nothing to protect the card. A card inside a card saver does not slide at all regardless of penny sleeve or not. But if you want penny sleeves I will put them in penny sleeves.



The odds are the more barriers a card need an entry way into the more chances a corner will get dinged.



Overall, I’ve submitted over 5,000 cards for grading at my job in the last two years alone to all the major grading card companies PSA, BGS, SGC. Companies prefer easier access to the card then additional barriers which in my opinion a penny sleeve is one of those.

I’m not even in this break but the customers probably want sleeves and toploaders as they have in my break.

What you do with your cards when you grade has nothing to do with it. These aren’t yours. Just a suggestion...

I 100% agree.

If anyone wants their cards in penny sleeves or top loaders I'm happy to do it.

All cards non-major base rookies and inserts will come penny sleeved and team bagged regardless.

PSA bases most of their info on vintage. I have seen card savers scratch chrome surface, no need to take the risk. If you don’t mind I’d like mine sleeved and toploaded once i draft.

Going forward, all chrome modern Refractor cards should be sleeved first. The surface is very delicate and most of us plan on grading. Sliding them in and out of a top loader like that could damage the surface.
