I hope this move works out for the Bucks. They need someone who can implement a winning system. They have some talent.
I’m really hoping for the NBA to have several teams with a legit shot at a title. My dream is for the east to have Boston, New York, Philly and 2-3 other teams having legit shots at going to the Finals every year. The Bucks could be in that conversation with a few more pieces and a functional team system. Obviously they already have a generational type player who has a skill set that could really mix things up. The Bucks organization should be very motivated to build around that foundation.

Appreciate it.
You gotta admit tho, pretty idiotic of a Celtics fan asking when the Celtics play next. If I didn't know I would look it up and not ask on a message board.

Not as much as a Celtics fan not knowing what day the Celtics play next when the entire 7 game series has been scheduled before it even starts.

Very nice hire. Will be great to see what Giannis can do with a legit coach.

So bucks fire Jason Kidd and still underachieve and then hire a coach who was 24-58, brilliant, lol. #trusttheprocess

Being a Hawks fan I'll give you my honest assessment of Coach Bud.. The Veterans in Milwaukee will love him because he can coach his style of play. When he took Atlanta to the ECF he did so with a team roster of pretty much all veteran players. The younger guys will absolutely hate him. He gets frustrated with mistakes and will unexplicably start benching young guys in order to start his more preferred vets. Now that Atlanta is in a full rebuild I am excited to have Bud out and a voice in that can reach the younger players and hopefully guide the Hawks back to winning.

At the same time a coach has to have a system that allows them mistakes in games without over reacting. Different sport but that was Claude Julien's issue with the Bruins. He overreacted to the mistakes of his young talent. Development stalled and the progress of the entire roster got stagnant. Many coaches are better their second time around. Hopefully he has learned to further develop his strengths (managing vets) while doing a better job with developing and integrating young talent. The Bucks HC job might be one of the toughest in the league. Giannis is so unique that it will take time to maximize his skill set within a team system.

The Hawks were obviously in rebuild mold this past season and Bud didn't want to be a part of that, so they parted ways. Bucks are not in rebuild mode.

I just don't think someone who has been an assistant coach for only 4 years is best for the job. I like people with more experience. Would like to see her as lead assistant/associtate HC first or time in college.

Wow by that said I'm worried for Thon Maker (the next KG?) and players like S.Brown then....since they're too raw and still makes lots of mistake while learning. With that said hopefully Couch Bud gives them chances to learn and prove them self without getting too frustrated. |
