TIL that the System Integrity Protection that comes with newer Mac operating systems (I'd been running Snow Leopard for almost a decade) is a pain in the bunghole.

How on earth is Chess "required by the operating system"?

In fact, I can't even move the apps I never use like Chess, Stickies, Maps, etc. to their own junk folder out of the way. So it looks like instead of having a neatly organized folder system for my apps (Media Creation Apps / Media Playback Apps / Media Conversion Apps / Text Apps / Useful Utilities / etc.) I'm just going to have to live with a single bloated apps folder.

That said, I am also learning how much nicer it is to live and work with a macbook where the logic board isn't forcing a reboot every other day.

TIL that the Wiley-Blackwell "Philosophy and Pop Culture" editions that I love so much actually have a regularly updated blog as well!

ANDPHILOSOPHY.COM is pretty freaking awesome and makes for a great read with their "I need something intelligent to read on the toilet"-length articles.

Example: For all the partisan love/hate that The Last Jedi received, they do a pretty good job in one article of setting all of that aside and breaking the narrative arc down in terms of the various philosophies featured. It makes it very easy to identify why individuals loved or hated the film without reducing them down to SJWs or Nazis.

I learn that cheap refill ink is a hit or miss on a HP Deskjet printer. It's not reading the ink so it still says it's empty.

Did I waste money on them? Yes I did.
