I go with b as well. But in his scenario earlier he was trading it away but still saying 1-5. If you don't have a first it would be 2-5 which still is not right. You shouldn't be able to have a player drafted in first if you don't have a first pick available to draft him

To keep ONE 1st Rd player from the previous draft year, you MUST have a 1st rd pick in the current year draft. To keep TWO 1st rd players from the previous draft year, you MUST have a 1st, 2nd, AND 3rd rd pick in the current year draft. To keep THREE 1st rd players from the previous draft year, you MUST have a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, AND 5th rd pick in the current year draft. For other keeper rule applications, a team manager MUST have the correct draft penalty pick available in order to keep that player from the previous draft year. (i.e. to keep a 5th rd pick from the 2013 draft, team manager MUST have a 3rd rd pick in the 2014 draft). Advice: For other keeper penalty applications, consult with the league commissioner (jbmets95) prior to executing the transaction (i.e. trade, waiver wire pick up, etc.) Now that it's in writing, i'm content. |

I would vote no on this. Being a money league, we all should remain on the same playing field...

Absolutely not, no way at all
Picks can only be traded for players

Negative. I thought I had the keeper rules down correctly, but obviously I did not based on consensus of the other league managers. I can't get rid of a 2014 1st rd pick and not be able to keep Foster and/or Richardson. Might readdress as the season progresses and I become eliminated from playoff contention.

RULE PROPOSAL:
No player may be kept more than 3 years on the same team. Was looking at some of the potential keepers, there are some players that I think team managers would keep on their rosters until that player is dead. Example: Say I wanted to keep Tom Brady. He'll never cost me anything more than a 3rd rd pick every year. Seems kind of unfair doesn't it? |

If the rule I proposed doesn't pass, then I would say propose a new rule: RULE PROPOSAL: For keepers in rds 1-3, penalty to keep is 1 higher rd than the previous year draft. I.e. a 2nd rd pick in the 2013 draft will cost you a 1st rd pick in 2014. Or MODIFIED RULE PROPOSAL: All KEEPERS, penalty to keep is 1 higher rd than the previous year draft regardless of draft round. |

I dont think there should be an extra penalty for keeping per year but i think a max of keeping a player 3 or 5 years should be considered
On a side note anyone interested in the ray rice bernand pierce package?

We seriously need to stop trying to make new rules until at least the end of the fantasy season. Sorry to everyone whose team isn't doing too well and you're looking towards the future, but we can not penalize those who drafted well to aid those who are now looking toward next season...

Ex. If you drafted Peyton Manning and Tony Gonzalez high this year, you're probably doing well in this league. But in year three? Gonzalez would have retired, and who knows with Manning. But if you're someone who drafted Julio Jones, Eddie Lacy, and Andrew Luck with a mind towards the future, you should be at a good place come year three. It all depends on your strategy for the now and your strategy for the future. By creating rules that limit teams even further than the already agreed upon rules, we limit the importance of a good drafting strategy. And yes, I understand, some teams may be stronger than others next year, but how is that the fault of anyone but the team that didn't draft well? And, as previously mentioned, that is why we have the snake draft as we do. Worst teAm, first pick. If that pick doesn't pan out, it is only the fault of the team that made that pick, and no other team should have to pay for their mistake. plus, we have already paid for the first three seasons, I don't see anyone leaving before those three seasons are over, no matter how much a couple of teams may be dominating... Sorry if it seems like I'm going on, but I don't see how we can fault those who are good just for being good, because after all, isn't the point of being in a league, especially a money league, is to put together the best team you can within the rules to win?
