MLB HOF Collector Thread - HOF'er OTD = George Brett
It seems that we have quite a few members that are collecting MLB HOF enshrinees. Let this be a place to show off your conquests, bemoan about your white whales, demean players that are unworthy and celebrate the history of the all time greats.
I'm not sure the best way to go about this but I am going to list the CL as I have it for me and will bold the ones that I have been able to add. You will notice that there are some missing from my list as I currently only collect people that were enshrined as players. Eventually I will probably expand to managers and others but not now. (edit - this has long since changed, if they're in, I'd like to own their auto) I will also work on adding my cards to Photobucket and the link will be added below (edit - PB crapped the bed so I created my own website, see link below). I look forward to seeing what others are working on, have collected and their trials and tribulations. There are plenty of prospect threads, let us honor those that have already lived up to the hype. I only ask that you not mention anyone by name unless they are already voted into the HOF. AWESOME thread and autograph collection jmscoggin's.
I collect HOF member game used cards. Currently theirs 170 HOF members (please correct me if I am mistaken) who have had a game used card of some sort made for them. I have managed to collect 169 of those players cards for my collection. It took a few years for me to bargain with collectors and hunt down auctions to get this far. I did have a problem with Topps and the Josh Gibson bat cards they put out in a few products. It seems Topps didn't know themselves if the bat was game used or not so they claimed it was a "model bat" which they made public at one time. So in my collection is a "genuine" Josh Gibson seat card which has just as much relevance to me as any other chip of wood deemed "model bat". Here's a link to my collection of members with the exception of Walter Johnson who has had a very limited amount of cards made that contain a piece of baseball from an official game. Awesome thread. I too am attempting to get a GU card of every HOfer and possibly an auto. I haven't done to much with it recently but this is probably my best and favorite card. BTW, here is the link to the rest of my PC.
