I like the design and the premium stock - but I'm on the fence, as $400 seems a bit steep for this. I would definitely be a buyer for $250, probably $300 as well, but I can't seem to pull the trigger at $400.

Agreed. If the auto was seperate and I didn’t have to open the set to get it that would increase the value for me.

The random serial number on each card also significantly decreases the value for me. I’m a set collector. If you’re going to offer a limited production box set then make them all the same serial number. I’d rather have every card numbered 232/249 than have the odd chance at a rookie jersey numbered card.

I’d buy this set all day at $200-250. At $400 I’ll pass and not regret it. That being said, they will eventually sell out and Panini makes and easy $99,000 for recycling a design and putting stickers on 249 cards.

I totally agree. I'd love to have "set 171/249" rather than collection of randomly numbered cards. That seems more appropriate for a "Tiffany" type set like this.

Well I was wrong. I assumed it could be anything with /249 made and it would sell out instantly. Maybe everyone is finally getting to that point that they have had enough of 50 variations of the same couple of sets. Or maybe it just isn't as exciting as everyone is just getting a set and then one autograph instead of boxes where you can get all sorts of things...

If it was $299 instead of $400, it would have been gone in a matter of hours.

They're a little too greedy on this one for it to sell out on release day.

But it will eventually sell out. They'll get their $400x249.

I keep looking at the page being tempted to add it to my cart.

I know there are many overhead costs, etc, but $99,600 for this extra subset? Apparently Panini does know what they're doing.

Decided to get the RC subset, guy had it on ebay and picked it up for $150 DLVD.

I just told myself I'd get a Zhou Qi auto if I dropped $400 on the whole thing.

Will post some pics when it arrives. Always liked the "scope" effect going back to PMGs.
