This is a story that has/had the potential to get national attention. His parents DO NOT want that. Can you imagine the ribbing his Father would take every time he walked by his A Hole rich colleagues. "Oh, hey Bob, so how was your weekend, I heard Brandon bought a new _______ " and so on

I understand everyone will have differing opinions about how it's his fault, his parents fault for not raising him properly, etc and to some degree I do agree with those people. Parents have a tremendous imprint on how their child behaves psychologically and socially. If this kid has been given everything he has ever wanted in life, not saying that is the case, then in his mind he may have not perceived buying all of these cards as doing anything wrong.

To the person who wrote the original post and seems close to the family, I would highly encourage a possible psych evaluation for this kid. He fits the age range and behaviors of what a typical presentation of mania looks like. If there are any fluctuations in mood and he becomes depressed, then obviously bipolar disorder is in play as well.

I only mention this as a possible explanation because the sooner you diagnose a mental illness and treat it, the better.

Thank you, Iíll pass that along

Exactly. The worst part of that situation was that the judge ruled because he was never taught about consequences the court was going to punish him with no consequences. I still shake my head just thinking about that case. Image if you were a family member of one of the victims...

How did the CC company/bank not have a red flag raised over suspicious spending?

Bottom line, a deal was brokered to sell the collection, and no chargebacks will be filed.

LOL... in other words "Don't give him any ideas!! He overpaid for my card and I don't want it back!"

Yea, just sweep it under the rug. Thats the solution. Act like it never happened.

Sad but true. There will likely be no lesson taught here.

For many years I was a retail store manager. When minors were caught shoplifting we would only release them to their parents. It didnít take long to learn, based off of parents reaction or lack of, which ones we would see again in the same situation.

I agree. I also dont think this will be the last time this kid does something very stupid like this.

If he sees he can get away with it he may up the stakes next time. Who knows, maybe he will work at a brokerage firm in the future and start robbing peoples 401k accounts.

One of the pictures he posted on his instagram account in the midst of pictures of all these ultra high end cards was a picture of the dictionary definition of "Legit". He obviously is a clueless rich kid who will be bailed out of every situation he gets himself into for his whole life.

Yeah -- probably didn't want to put themselves through discovery.
