Default International shipment missing

Long story short.

I sold an item through eBay to a buyer in Canada. The item was shipped through eBay and had tracking up to another state in their international shipping center.

Nothing else updated after a month.

Buyer opens up a case.

Will I lose ?

I once had a package of 3 cards that I sent from Australia take 6 weeks to clear Canadian customs....yes 6 weeks. Their postal system will tell you that they can't do anything because it's with Canadian customs and you can't contact Canadian customs. The website basically tells you that they can (and usually do) take their time and there is nothing you can do about it. It's a crappy situation but perhaps contact Canada post, verify if this is what has happened and contact the buyer.
This is likely the generic reply you will receive from Canada post:

Up to another state? Did you ship via GSP to Kentucky? If so you're covered as long as tracking shows its delivered to Kentucky. If you sent it direct to Canada and its sitting in New York then you're boned unless it shows up. If you sent direct, try the tracking number thru Canadian post.

Since you shipped through EBay you are covered. I would stay in contact with the buyer and let them know that sometimes due to circumstances beyond your control, the item may take some time to clear customs. I know this for a fact as one time I had cards stuck for close to 4 weeks before they got delivered. Hope that helps.

If I understand right you shipped through the GSP in Kentucky. As long as it shows delivered there you should be covered.

Nope, you wont win. This is why I advocate GSP. You'll never win a case unless you pay the 20 some odd dollar shipping cost. Your only hope is to try the tracking on Canada post and see if it actually made it.
