Topps Full Item Redemption Joke

After waiting 9+ months for two full item redemptions to show up I finally got a surprise package in the mail Friday. Considering I was told by Topps on numerous occasions that these would either be game-used hats or jerseys I was surprised that it was one of their regular white cardboard envelopes. When I opened it I was shocked to find two 4" x 3" magnets. One was the Orioles logo and the other was a Texas logo. Confused as heck I looked up the mlb holograms on them and found out they were magnets used on the 2013 draft board for the 2nd round.

I couldn't stop laughing. Topps stated on their sell sheet that those redemptions were for items from minor league games and their customer service staff assured me they would both be game-used jerseys or hats. Instead they sent a computer print out of a team logo pasted onto a magnet and used at an event that has nothing to do with a game.

Needless to say I'll be calling customer service today when I have 20 minutes to wait on hold. Anyone have info on where to file a complaint for bait and switch if they don't fix the situation? Thanks

Wow, I don't even know what to say to that. I guess you now have the coolest fridge magnets on the boards?

Did the redemption offer state that they would be minor league game-used items, or just the conversation with the idiot... er, I mean, highly trained customer service representative?

Also, try tweeting Topps and getting their attention that way. Post a pic with a WTF and a hashtag #Toppsfail or something. That might get you a quick fix, too.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I think those sound pretty cool. Checking who was drafted by the Orioles and Rangers in the second round of 2013 and it is Chance Sisco and Akeem Bostick. I would think if someone PC's either of those guys, those would be a unique piece of memorabilia that they would be interested in. Also, if either player becomes a star, those would be cool to have.

I personally think they sound cooler than a hat that there are probably dozens of.

I am not going to say I am done with buying Topps products because they have a monopoly on the MLB license, but I am done with high-end where you can get these seemingly cool redemptions that turn out to be garbage. Just going to stick with Bowman products.

Ummmm, no. I'm sorry but there is no way these are cooler than my Speed Racer magnets I have on my fridge. Girls in the neighborhood would give me handjobs just to look at them.
