Glen “Boo” Siberian should be added in my opinion.

He’s the guy who helped invent the adhesive the sticks chrominium to cardboard stock.

We all know chrome is king and without him we might not have a king, so to speak.

Jefferson Burdick will definitely be a top consideration. But I have heard some questions about his impact on post-war cards.

How does he score on all the listed criteria categories...

My opinion is he is clearly one of the most important contributors in our industry's history.

But there can only be four...

I would think he is a definite possibility.

Sy Berger
Jim Beckett
Richard McWilliam
Jefferson Burdick

And while these guys don't get my vote, the list should have included Frank H. Fleer, Alan Hager (creator of the card grading scale and slabbing), Larry Fritsch, and Bill Mastro.

beckett - market manipulator in the eyes of some with a price guide and a grading company, along with his pricing of cards for sale

mcwilliam - scandal of potential fake autographs that potentially led to the decline of upper deck

mastro - entire operation allegedly built on felonies

really fits the theme of mount rushmore

NickM - have to agree with you all those guys are truly worthy of consideration. Those names will be turned over to the research team. Thanks for your contribution.

Berger, Beckett, Berkus, Odymaar are my four.

Each of the four brought their own significant contributions to the hobby and were very important in moving it along at a certain point in time.

Berger created the modern day baseball card.
Beckett told us how to value our cards and was the premier magazine for years.
Berkus founded the biggest and best sports card show in the world.
Odymaar started what is now known to be the modern day real time price guide and helps connect collectors all over the world.

Definitely good arguments for others, but I don’t see anybody cracking those four.

Seriously, I would add Ken Griffey Jr to that list.

Outside of the Wagner and 52 Mantle, it's the most iconic card in baseball and top 5 overall (have to put Fleer Jordan and Gretzky RC above him)
