Nice to see that out of Brinson yesterday even if it was against UWM pitching. Certainly can't hurt his confidence.

I really hope he plays well this spring. If he does I think Santana is on the outs and he makes the roster..........................after the 15th of April so the Brewers can play the money game. I think that's the date.

Once thought as the teams ace going into last season. What are everybody's thoughts on Wily Peralta? Do you all think that he continues his decent play from the end of last season or do you think he just ends up being erratic again? Should he just be a closer or a starter? Will he even make the team? Does he have any trade value? Thank you in advance for your opinions.

I think they should give him a handful of starts this spring but as far as I'm concerned right now he's a bullpen guy or closer if he can keep it together.

I know this isn't the real deal but I sure hope he gets it together and throws well. Last season was terrible for him.

Well, not the worst for Peralta.

He gave up two walks and one hit during two scoreless innings. So he did ok.

Who's impressed you most thus far in Spring Training?

Right now, for me it's Jett Bandy. Chucked a couple out with his arm today and has been hitting great. I fully expected Susac to get the starting job but at this point it has to be Bandy.

And to follow that up Jorge Lopez was pretty darn impressive for Puerto Rico in the WBC tonight. 4.1IP 2H 1R 1ER 2BB 5K

Curveball was devastating. Lopez got really damaged by Colorado Springs last year and seems to have found some confidence again. Now looking like the prospect he was a couple of years ago. Lopez re-emerging as a legitimate prospect would be huge for us.

I agree, Jett looks fantastic and will be the starting catcher for them. I also see Jesus Aguilar getting a decent amount of playing time with his performance thus far. If Lopez continues to pitch well he needs to be in the starting rotation as that really is the biggest weak point of this team.

I honestly think this team might surprise some people this year.

I do too mostly because they've addressed some non-personnel-type issues such as having more lefties in the lineup and setting better platoon situations.

I think people are drastically underrating what Arcia brings to the table at this point and are rightly-cautious on Keon Broxton.

I also always thought Jimmy Nelson was a better pitcher than he's displayed yet.

I feel like Jimmy Nelson is turning into Manny Parra, has the stuff just cant put it all together.

As for Arcia, Broxton and Villar they will help the Brewers lead the league in SB.

Good game for my Pc guy. Wily Peralta started for the Dominican Republic and pitched four innings of one-run ball. He struck out six and walked one. I swear I hope he keeps his focus this coming season and through the the season.

Well now I'm undecided on who the starting Catcher should be as Pina is now mashing as well.

I actually thought Susac would win this job but at this point looks like he'd be the one sent down, no?

I think Susac hurt his chances big time, only way he gets any sort of call is if Pina or Bandy completely tanks. Really like seeing Shaw start hitting the ball more. Big question is if he plays well the first half of the season do they shop him at the all star break since Hernan is capable of playing 3rd? Plus, if Erceg has a solid season in the minors the job will be his next year.

None of the moves have truly shocked me so far. I think they will have a decent bullpen so the pitching moves are okay, the Reed and Rivera move are pretty standard. Both are just depth. Pina makes the team and I'm curious if he beat out Bandy for the starting job. I would imagine they will both get decent playing time.

And.....Scooter gone. Claimed off waivers by the Reds. Good riddance.

Really had no room for him, Aguilar is crushing the ball and could potentially be more of a trade asset come all star break. My wife looked at the roster and said she really doesn't know anyone anymore, I told her it could be the same after the all star break if a handful of these guys perform well.
