Default My Own Toy Store 2.0

Two Year Update! 2018. Scroll down!

I made a thread in January about being bored and turning one of my extra rooms in the Man cave into a toy store. Instead of bumping that old thread I figured I'd just make a new one.

The focus of my "store" in the 1980's thru the very early 90's. Since thats when I was a kid. It was boring running on a treadmill in the old room so this spices things up a little. Without further adieu...

Pee-Wee, ALF and some Star Wars...

Next to that some Chipmunks, A-Team and early WWF.

Main wall. E.T., Dukes of Hazard, Transformers, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Terminator & Beetlejuice.

Next to that some 80's animation cels. Flinstones, He-Man & Marvel

Junk Wax, Garbage Pail Kids and the like. And a Windy the Clown from Circus World Toys which was my favorite toy store in the 80's

And some more He-Man

This was the original thread

http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/t...toy-store.html

I hope this helped bring back some memories for you "older" folks!

And a fresh update thanks to all of the Toys R Us closings. I was able toa dd some Star Wars stuff and plenty of signage & displays!

These are pretty awesome. They are TV monitors that play toy ads on a loop. Hot Wheels, Thomas the Train, Monopoly, Star Wars, Nintendo, Nurf, Disney, Lego ETC.

I'm going to try moving some of these, I dont need 20 of them LOL. But when you get to shop the warehouse you buy what you can!

Every day after school I'd hit the local dime store for a pack. Goonies, He-Man, Superman and the like. $0.25 a pack and I'd cut my mouth on that piece of gum. Most of these boxes can now be found for $10 or so. A cheap way to go back in time a little!

To the Top!

I actually got to shop the Illinois Toys R Us warehouse and stocked up pretty well. No Toys there, just fixtures and display, I made sure I got a legal bill of sale and authorization to resell as well. Just in case there is any trouble with intellectual rights with some stuff. These things were never meant to be sold publicly.

I also have been racking up deals for my kids. Looks like the Grid wont have to go toy shopping for awhile!

They were $2.50 each. How could I pass that up?

I'm just now at the end of selling these monitors off. Paid $20 each, bought 16 of them, and I sold them on ebay for about $250 each on average. Some went for $300 and some for $200. Just depended on the style.

I made more money flipping Toys R Us stuff then I ever did with cards or sport memorabilia.

And honestly, most of this stuff is cheap. I pick up carded late 80s or early 90s action figures for a couple bucks all over the place.

Lots to be had at flea markets
