Default What was the first "HIT" you ever pulled

I was just thinking back to my first "HIT" and wondered what some of you guys have experienced. Mine was in 1999, I had quit collecting in '91 when I entered high school. I went to the LCS to sell what I had left over from when I was a kid. I ended up keeping it all and buying a box of UD MVP. I pulled a Randy Moss GU ball card and I was hooked for life.

I pulled a Hakeem Olajuwon game used jersey out of 1998/99 Upper Deck basketball! Those cards were amazing at that time!

Mine was a Chris Webber jersey card out of some Fleer product. I remember checking out the book value and thinking it was awesome since it was a $20 card.

The first one I remember was a 2001 UD Hall of Fame Lou Gherig jersey. It was considered a SUPER short print at the time with the print run stated at 194. Gorgeous piece with a pinstripe almost dead center diagonally!

Machop common pokemon. Does that count?

Actually, it was a 2008 Donruss Threads Marion Barber III patch /50. 2 packs later I pulled my second hit, a Tom Brady g/u.

I will never forget the excitement of my first "hit". I collected all through my childhood, but stopped in 1993. In 2000 I decided to get a cheap box of 2000 Topps Gallery off of ebay. I really didn't get anything special until I hit a Marshall Faulk on-card auto. It was a great feeling. I didn't even realize at the time you could get autos in boxes. Still have it today and will never get rid of it. I have been hooked ever since, but I am still a set builder at heart.

Back in 2000 my bro took me to a little card show for my bday. I had no interest in cards so I just bout 10 packs of Fleer Dominion for $1 each. I ended hitting an Orlandis Gary Fleer Autographics card.

Spring 1992, I was 12. My dad bought me a box of 1992 Donruss Series 2 Baseball for my quarter report card. Pulled a Rickey Henderson Elite Legends Series VERY low numbered and HTG /7500 LOL. It was the tail end of overproduction so this would probably be as tough or tougher than a 1/1 pull today. I was on top of the world even though I didn't even like Henderson that much. Made a big mistake holding onto it though. Its value is more sentimental than anything.

I quit in '94 picked back up during the Topps baseball Mantle insert craze in '95 and quit again until basically this past fall. Now I only do football because it always was my favorite.

I remember mine... I was at a wal mart one nigh and bought a few packs of topps stadium club baseball and a blaster box of topps. I opened them up.... and I got a dual jersey of Alam Trammell and Lou Whitaker(it was a rare pull for a blaster back than) in the blaster and than in one of my packs of stadium club was a Moises Alou Bat Relic card. I was hooked ever since, and bought hobby boxes for the "guarantee" after that. I still buy blasters here and there cause I have to wait for shipping because of no local LCS.

The first `hit' would probably be the f*ck face Billy Ripken error out of 1989 Fleer. As for inserts a 1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold of Ken Griffey. It origianlly booked for $5000.

I was a card show in 1992 at Rhein Mein AFB, Germany and bought some packs of score. I pulled a Stan Musial autograph. Signed in gold ink. Even though it is a Cardinal it is still one of my favorite pulls.

'99 SP Authentic "Sign of the Times" Larry Hughes. The idea of getting an autograph back at that time was awesome, like nothing else. Still have the card.
