No. In hand you will find a wrinkle on it. Also a couple places where the card has a “bend” from pressure on it, but not to the point of creasing it. In a scan or from a few feet away it looks like a 7. Closer inspection and the right lighting angle reveals the flaws giving it the technical grade it has.

Here is my Walter Payton RC. I sold my 8’s and kept this one. A barely visible wrinkle kept it a 4.

That’s a great card! My #34 Bears jersey from childhood was one of my favorite things growing up and that Payton is the only football card on my want list.

This is probably my best looking low grade card, the centering doesn't bug me since it's centered left-right. It graded a 2 because there are a couple wrinkles that can only be seen on the back.

This is my nicest "low" grade card. That small print mark above his ear saved me 50-60k.

I have been picking up 56 Topps and wish more people would focus on the grade. Collectors will pay a premium on most of the centered ones I see. So, I guess a lot of collectors focus on the card and not on the grade, at least with that set.
