Default Can someone please tell me how this Star Co. Jordan graded a BGS 9?

Upon initial glance, nothing looks wrong with this BGS9 1986 Star Court Kings Michael Jordan card.

However, upon closer inspection, there are apparent condition flaws such as a bend and dent on the edge of the lower right corner of the card. So how in the world did this receive a BGS 9?

This could have been a negligence on the part of bgs.. we juz had recent submission to bgs and card was all perfect and the auto was all good but then when card came back the auto got smudge but despite this damage the card landed BGS 8 with 10 AUTO!.. this is the card before and after grading..

How does BGS make up for this? PSA would compensate for the card value and regrade appropriately I believe.

What the hell could they have done to cause the auto to do that?

That Jordan Star card, if the damage wasn't there when you shipped it, there's a chance the corner damage happened when the card was being sealed in the sleeve before encapsulation.

That's giving the grader the benefit of doubt that the corner wasn't already damaged and he didn't see it.

If a certain Star dealer submitted that card they probably just ignored the flaw like they do his trimming.

It doesn't sound like the OP actually submitted the card. I think he's just asking how this graded card he bought got a 9.

That said, it happens. I see 9's all the time that shouldn't be 9's. Hell, I've owned a few.

^ I'd go with this, lol.

Didn't that Star trimming scumbag recently rebrand/rename his "grading service" recently? Lmao.
