I see there is some interest in doing a follow up to Patrick's successful BGS Group Submission. I am willing to organize this. This would be my first time doing a group "break" so I will outline my proposal but please don't hesitate to point out errors or make suggestions. Since people were happy with the previous submission I will pattern mine after Pat's.

We will be doing the 20 Day Service Level (at the 45 day cost). I am working under the hope that we will have a 100+ card submission which makes the grading fee $7/card (Plus $2 per CERTIFIED autograph).

For shipping TO BGS I hope to use a USPS Medium Flate Rate Box ($10.70) which I will insure for $3,000 ($31.70).

Shipping from Me to BGS Total= $42.40

As far as return shipping from BGS to myself, I will insure the shipment for $3,000 ($24) and select Ground Shipping ($26).

Shipping from BGS to ME Total=$50

So that $92.40 total divided by 100 cards will add $0.93 per card in addition to the grading fee.


Examples

08 Bowman Chrome Jason Heyward Auto ($7 grading fee + $2 CERTIFIED auto fee + $0.93 shipping and insurance TO BGS) would cost $9.93 to be graded at the 20 day level.

86/87 Fleer Michael Jordan ($7 grading fee + $0.93 shipping and insurance TO BGS) would cost only $7.93 to be graded at the 20 day level.

I will calculate return shipping (from me back to you) once I have your cards packed up. This will vary depending on the number of cards you sent and whether you want your newly graded cards insured or not. I will charge a nominal fee for supplies. I will also calculate in the Paypal fees (grading and this shipping).

I am worried about accepting so many Paypal "gifts" so I will take the inital grading fees as calculated. I will add that Paypal fee to the return shipping (from me to you) fee along with the Paypal fee for THAT payment itself.

Reservations for cards to be graded will be taken on a first come first serve basis. For example, TDiddy532 stated in the prospective thread that he wants to send in 2010 Bowman Strasburg Base and Chromes and Bryce Harper Chromes. This rule will only apply to non-serialized cards. I need a very clear way to be able to tell the cards apart.

Our submission needs to be postmarked by August 31, 2010. August is already half over. I regret not thinking of hosting this sooner as I see Beckett will be taking submissions at a comic show near me next weekend which would've saved about fifty cents per card.

Hopefully, this will fill up fast. All cards and payments must be received by me NO LATER than August 26th. That will give me time to organize and ship the cards to BGS in plenty of time.

I rather not have my address out in the public forum. Once the total grading fees are determined I will PM each member a total and provide my Paypal account and mailing information and instructions (please at least use delivery confirmation if not signature confirmation when sending me your cards).

I'd like to do something fun when we get the results. Perhaps random every users name and then do a "live break" by posting scans in order. however, we can decide on that later.

PLEASE let me know if anything is unclear. There seems to be demand for this and I'm more than willing to help out so we can get it done.

I think mine stayed in testing the whole time. Thats predominantly where people go to sign up, so figured that was the best bet.

As for the return shipping cost, it was pretty much an estimation based on 100 cards going in. Add the BGS return shipping price and whatever the insurance cost will be and /100. You may end up with slightly more here than the actual cost is, but its a pretty negligible amount. I charged that in the up front cost as it all comes out in 1 shot when they charge your card.

I wasn't too clear, I meant...everyone sent you their cards. You filled out the paperwork and sent all that to BGS. Where did you add in that shipping/insurance cost? I see that you had return shipping (free) & insurance from BGS back to you. You can see I have those fees figured in for the per card price. I believe my way is fine, just wondering how you handled that.

Per Beckett...

Cards should be sent in oversized (3.25" X 5") semi-rigid holders (such as a Card Saver I). Penny sleeves may also be used in conjunction with the oversized semi-rigid holders. BGS will not be responsible for any damages incurred by the use of other holders.

I have friends who sent cards in toploaders that are convinced BGS damaged some of their cards. However, it's obviously still possible to slightly damage a card removing it from a Card Saver. Plus, for thicker cards the Card Savers aren't very practical.
