Just curious, since they didn't number refractor autos last year, and carry that through to this year, they could potentially up the print run on those as well to fill out the extra 2000ish cases.
I suspect we'll see increases in both. 45-50 prospects w/ a higher print run per subject.

I honestly expect 7,500 total cases of Draft this year, if not more. Such a success in 2012; I think a lot of pre-ordering was done and Topps is cranking the presses.

1,100 Jumbo / 6,600 hobby is my guess.,
I don't know what I did to merit being called cute, but I'll take it whether sarcasm loaded or not

I'm trying hard to remember the hype train on 2012 BD (in mid-late October)...a lot of the 2011 guys were hot, but the 2012 class was weak. It's similar to this year, some the of 2012 guys have picked up steam but the new class leaves something to be desired. Do you really believe pre-ordering spiked by 25%? That's not being condescending, it's an honest question. That is a LOT of additional cases ordered without any product info. I really hope your guess is wrong, but I get your logic...

He was basically saying "you're smart, but naive if you think Topps will pull back the presses on anything right now". At least that's how I read it.

Well, pretty simple. Don't pre-order and wait til the full checklist and production numbers come out before you buy. I didn't think Topps could screw up Draft cause it's good every year, but this checklist looks pretty crappy so far by Draft standards, and who knows how many scrubs they'll throw in at the end. Still waiting for a 2013 Bowman product worth spending money on. Looks like there may not be one.

Bottom line: Topps just plain sucks right now. We're entering a new era of overproduction and scrub filled checklists.

I wouldn't mind seeing them add Josh Hart as well while they're at it.

Lol, if that is the case. A guy can HOPE they won't crank the presses, can't he? Maybe I am giving them too much credit...but it is my favorite product and don't want it ruined

Not a banner day for 2013 Bowman Draft. Eades fits in perfectly with the Twins "we pitch to contact" philosophy.

Hopefully tomorrow is a much better day.

if you look at our team ERA this year, I'd say they got that model figured out to a T

This product would be easy to do VERY well.

C'mon Topps. Get it together.

Minnesota and pitching have been like water and electricity for a while now. Eades is a low ceiling kind of pick and a guy that I think gets absolutely hammered in the major leagues. He doesn't miss bats; and that's simply not gonna work in modern day baseball.

Tack on his age ... yuck.

Now this is what I'm looking for. As of now, looks like I'll be buying singles unless overall checklist improves.

Going to be a lot of 9 autos with that sig. Kominsky can't carry draft, not even close, he's a #3 starter.

Thrilled to see Kaminsky.

Now (Cardinals) I'd still like to see: (base or auto)
Marco Gonzales
Oscar Mercado
Chris Rivera
Nick Petree
Steven Farinaro

How about some big-name players Topps!

Kaminsky's not a bad player. He's very highly regarded. Mid nineties fastball and hammer curve. Front of the rotation potential.

he isn't going to i mean so far we have Frazier and Smith which are 2 of the possible top 6 or so names that they could even include. you know that they are going to hold back 2 of the names, likely Bryant and Appel. That means you will see Meadows & Gray added still. Throw in guys you will likely see like Moran, Ball, Dozier. And then Puig and maybe Myers as RC autos and the product will still be solid. Add in the 45 top prospect cards, instead of lower tier prospects, to add the likes of Buxton, Correa, Soler, Almora, etc. instead of the Robert Benicasa, Mike Mudron and Bryan Haar's of the world and you are going to have another high quality product. The two major concerns people should have are simple, how many cases are going to be produced (25% increase perhaps?) and how many autos will there be (48 prospect and 2-3 RCs). If that happens and they stay as mainly 1st and 2nd rounders then the product will be fine.

This is exactly what anyone who has opened draft (and preordered) is expecting IMHO

No one saying he will carry it but he has way more than #3 potential.
