How much more of Franco do they need to see. They should have gotten rid of him while he still had a thread of value. The one thing that stood out to me at the games I went to last season was Franco's lackadaisical attitude. He just has that arrogant look to him no matter how shi**y he plays. Meanwhile he has Kingery on the bench to start the game. Kapler better figure it out soon or he can tow his tanning bed to a single A team somewhere.

5.2 innings, 4 hits, 0 ER, 9 Ks for Pivetta.

That'll do.

That was a great outing, albeit against the Marlins. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Was at the game today.

Notes: Pivetta was dominant.
-Franco may have been the least cheered starter and he balled out. It’s always going to be a what if question with him. Shame because the talent is trapped in there somewhere.
-Crawford is legitimately overmatched in every at bat, which finished with his final at bat against a guy with a 14 ERA where he swung through three straight pitches down the cock.
-Kingery didn’t play a bad right field but I wouldn’t call him an outfielder. Routes to balls looked shaky.
-Odrubel needs to play every day; that simple.
-Hernandez needs to become more of a household name.

On a side note; there were a lot of affordable game used jerseys in the authentication store for what I thought was reasonable prices from Mother’s Day/Father’s Day/ Stars and Stripes game. I was kinda rushed as the shade under the concessions and wind made it a little unbearable so I didn’t get to check authentication stickers to see if they were truly game used or team issued.

That would be surprising as I am used to not even being able to consider buying for the store unless there is at least a 25% sale going on.

This is the first year as far as I can remember that I didn't buy extra innings or MLB.tv.

Watching the game right now on the Marlins' broadcast as I live 4 hours away.

I am so disenfranchised by this team - after going to so many spring games - I don't think I can watch Gabe Kapler's fuc&ery for a whole season.

I don't like Kingery bouncing around the lineup and diamond - I think it's going to ruin him. I don't like the fact that at least 3 players have come out against Kapler already and no one outside of the backup catcher and stud pitcher who hasn't pitched for us yet is supporting him.

Kapler was a huge mistake. Unfortunately, the team won't admit it unless we tank, like 25-55 by the AS break.

So that's what I'm hoping for.

Has Vince ever gone past 6 innings in his career?

He has to be one of baseball's leaders in pitches per inning for starters

Said it a bunch of times but I'll ask again. Why in the hell is Altherr getting the majority of the starts over Williams? Especially against righties. He's batting like .050

Again—-Time... you need to give it a little.

I’m no huge fan of Kapler as he mismanaged us into a loss and sticky situation so far in his young career, if they hold that opener in Atlanta there 1 game over with two games played in the high 30’s that should have been called in NY.

They are seeing more pitches per AB then any team in the bigs. We need people on base to score—I like the look of it so far.

That said I think the signings of Santana and Arrieta have tinted things a little. This is still a developmental year for most guys.

To address some of your concerns, where would you like them to play Kingery? SS is the only viable option at the moment. We know what Franco does and does
Not do, but he had 10 AB’s going into the home opener. Crawford could use some more seasoning in AAA I would be ok with him there. But taking Casear or Franco out of the lineup right now is a mistake.

The only know players to show frustration are williams and Nola.

Nola deal was way overblown. Outside of Hoskins we all knew ONE of AA, Odrubel or williams would end up being upset. Looks like Williams is going to be tradebait or a 4th OF this year, Hoskins will be playing 155 or so game. Herrera 140-145. Leaves AA and Williams to fight it out for who gets hottest quickest. Grand Slam for AA might help if he can follow it up with consistency, remember first half last year was wild! Is he good or just another dom
Brown w/o the pedigree??

Barring injury.

Best lineup in my opinion right now

1. Caesar
2. Santana
3. Hoskins
4. Kingery
5. Odrubel
6. Franco
7. Williams
8. Alfaro

Rotation (health presumed)
1. Nola
2. Arrieta
3. Pivetta
4. Eickhoff
5. Lively

Move VV to set up or closer role and let him throw BB’s

Jake Thompson pitched 3 scoreless innings tonight.

His reward?

Trip to Lehigh Valley to make room for Arietta.
