Default Best bands live

What is the best concert you have ever been to and why?

I have been to over 30 concerts so it is hard for me to narrow it down. I have seen a wide variety of genres. From Allison Krause to Outkast. I have enjoyed 95% of the concerts I have gone to.

I have seen the following bands at least 4 times: Aerosmith, Godsmack, Black Sabbath, and Sevendust. I would love to see Tracy Chapman again.

Bands I love in concert but just can't get into their albums: Smashing Pumpkins and the Who.

I've seen:

Dropkick Murphys

System of a Down w/ Deftones

and

Avenged Sevenfold with Ghost B.C. and Deftones

Have to say A7X was amazing...all three concerts were.

SOAD with Fear Factory, Hed (pe), and Spineshank was my favorite show. Also enjoyed Reel Big Fish, Steetlight Manifesto, Boy Hits Car, Cypress Hill, Gaslight Anthem, and Sevendust a lot. Something Corporate was surprisingly high energy. Oh, and Jurassic 5 was a great show.

Shinedown at the house of blues. They did and acoustic set and it blew my mind, Brent Smith's vocals along with that acoustic really put them over the top for me. Sound of madness is probably one of my top 10 favorite songs ever.
Mudvayne is awesome so is slipknot
Rob Zombie killed it in concert!

GWAR
George Clinton and the P-Funk All Stars

Both put on shows that far exceed their music.

Best concert I've ever seen was this last fall. The Replacements homecoming concert at Met Stadium in St. Paul. Everyone was going wild the entire concert, and the replacements nailed it. Seen Dylan 12 times, number 1 was last year in his hometown of Duluth with My Morning Jacket and Wilco opening for him. You can tell he was adding something extra for the fans, longer solos and more hits than usual

not a band but the best I've ever seen was Sting and Paul Simon together in concert just last year.

Fantastic musicians, fantastic music.

Pavement, went on their reunion tour and thought they would just be a bunch of old farts and suck. Without a doubt the best concert I've ever been to. They ruled. I saw Arcade Fire the next night and thought they sucked, but it was just because I compared them to Pavement, I've seen them 4 times total and they're good live.

Iron Maiden is the best by far live. I don't own a single album of Maiden, but when they do their US tour, I am in. Bruce Dickinson still kills it. Saw U2 in Montreal for their 360 tour with my girlfriend.

U2 was the best show I've ever seen. I've seen them about 6 times. The Joshua Tree Tour was just stripped down rock and roll at its most powerful, and then they came back with Zoo TV which was an over-the-top circus that was visually amazing.

Lollapalooza was one of the most fun days I've ever had. Saw Ellie Goulding to Friendly Fires to Eminem and everything in between. Even saw a guy in cutoff jean shorts and a dog collar walking a blowup penis on a leash (was that you, D2R?).

Took my wife to see Elton John and Billy Joel in their dual tour a few years ago at Wrigley, and that tuned into a 3 1/2 hour rock history tour for the ages. I'm more of an Elton fan than a Billy guy, but those two guys kicked ass all night. Amazing show.

You could tell how deep the guy was into his lyrics. Last song you slammed the mic down and walked off stage

3 of my top 5 consists of local Texas guys but Tom Petty and Metallica with Korn are the other two. Tom Petty is probably number 2 on my list.

The three best shows I have seen, not in any order:

- Chris Cornell, acoustic set in a smaller venue
- Tool
- NIN
