He isn't as big of a reason as you think. You are just reading those statistics they had put on the screen. Doesn't matter who calls the game its the pitchers fault if they can't make their pitches period.

Avila??? Glad he's gone, but this team isn't worth watching lately.

I was saying this long before the stats were put up. It does make a difference who is behind the plate, this team needs it's best defensive option and the guy who calls a great game.

Yea, Avila.

I get why everyone hates him, I just find it laughable (and I'm not talking about his offensive slump this season)

But I am. And the slump began at the beginning of last season. Great defensive catcher but his absence isn't the reason we're losing.

I have to agree. I have been a fan of Avila, but since 2011 he just hasn't been producing. He is decent defensively in my opinion. Is he a factor in the way he called games behind the plate? Sure. But, I don't think he is the reason we have been slumping lately.

He was an above player last year, what's wrong with that offensively?

He had a .350 OBP, and he was doing that with his knees bothering him. A .350 OBP from a guy hitting 8th usually has a ton of value, especially from your catcher.

I hope they get on track soon. Maybe Leyland needs to be a tough guy for once and motivate.

Whats the MLB record for RBI's at the allstar break? Miggy has to be top 10.

Former Tiger Juan Gonzalez in 1998 had 101. He was playing for Texas at the time.

Ironically another former Tiger holds the record. Hank Greenberg with 103.

He is that bad, and Castellanos would be a great replacement, however for some reason they're leaving him in Toledo.

Benoit with a 1-2-3 9th. So nice to have a QUALITY relief pitcher in the 9th.

He makes me nervous because of his long ball history but can't complain about him lately at all.

Saw this in my ebay searches if any of you guys go for big money cards like this. It's a really sick looking card with the inscriptions.
