Default eBay send Offers to Watchers

Had a customer come in and show us that he was able to do this on his account, he was not part of the beta or pilot program months back. It just showed up on his account, but he does not have a store.

We just checked our ebay account and do not have this feature, has anyone else been using this?

Once a week eBay sends me a message about items I am selling that are in people's carts. If I lower the prices eBay will alert those potential buyers that I lowered the price.

Is that what you are talking about?

I have had the "send offer to watchers" for a few months and have had some success selling cards, didn't realize it was something new or something that was not available to all. I am not a high volume seller so not sure why I have it but it works.

Maybe they thought best to roll out with the smaller sellers and roll up.

ive heard that eBay also changes people’s BIN listings to accept offers after they’re already live for a bit? that seems weird.

I don't have it either. But it sounds like a cool feature that could generate sales off people who like to add items to their watch lists then forget about them like I sometimes do.

Only downside I can see is sales might slow a little. It might cause people to start watching an item instead of hitting the BIN or making an offer on their own. We shall see.

I searched it online and maybe this is why some people don't see it - including myself? Makes sense because I use seller hub.

Quote:
1) eBay Sellers Can Make Offers to Watchers

The latest move in eBay's haggling strategy: eBay is running a new pilot where sellers can initiate Best Offers to up to 10 buyers who are watching their items. Here's how eBay explains it:

"Only one offer is allowed per watcher (for up to 10 watchers) and the offers will expire after the standard 48-hour duration. The message a buyer receives will clearly indicate that others have also received the same offer and the first to accept will get it. Once one buyer has accepted, the others will be notified that the seller's offer is no longer available. Buyer's who do not wish to receive these kinds of offers can opt out by changing their communication preferences."

However, this particular feature is available only to sellers who use "My eBay > Selling" - in other words, it's not available to those using Seller Hub.

This is what I see;

I have sent offers to all watchers but I am limited to sending only 3 offers for any given item. Like I said, I like it and have had some success recently.

Just an FYI - after I switched to the new selling overview page I now have the send offer to watchers button.

A few things:

I noticed that all the BIN/BO auctions I had didn't do show up. Only a few of them.

I prefer the classic view. If I switch back, can I go back and forth and still have this option?

Seller hub > selling tools (may have to scroll to see it in your seller hub) > view my eBay selling. To switch back to classic, in the upper right hand corner there’s a “switch back to classic” link.

Yes, I’m able to use both so far without clicking back to classic mode. It looks like depending in the route you take to get there is the view you get. Just clicking seller hub takes me to classic view. If I go down to selling tools and click view my eBay selling link it shows me the new layout with the offers to watchers button.

Kind of cool to mess around with so far.

I noticed that too - I had about 14 listed that I could send offers to out of all my listings. Not sure how it picked which ones to allow me to send offers to, but I sent out several just to test it out and see if anyone bites or see if they respond at all.

Got to it, but wont let me send offers. When you switched over could you send watchers offers?

Yes, as soon as I switched I was able to send offers. It didn’t show all my listings though, only about 14. Maybe those 14 met a certain criteria, maybe they only show a few, or maybe since I just switched it show a few. Not sure how that works yet.
