Invincible #19 has steadily been on the rise as NWM continues its popularity.

Anyone able to give me some good X-men comics I should look out for: Looking for ones in the $20-$50 range, any key issues ring a bell for anyone (kinda new at the comic book collecting.)

Thanks.

Uncanny X-men 129, 141-142, 266, and 282-283 are ones I would be on the lookout for.

Is that considered the first comic appearance?

You can definitely find a decent grade VG or higher copy of X-Men
#58 or #64. Havok and Sunfire are cool characters and often used in story lines. Lots of future potential. You can also get a #28 similar mid-grade for around your price range, but I've never been a fan of Banshee, lame character IMO.

Not to knock, but just solely my opinion:
141-142 is a terrible time to buy, good time to sell. I would wait until X-Men Future Past comes out and bombs then pick it up after people are trying to sell their 141's.

I personally wouldn't bother with 282/283 unless its under $3, and that isn't a long term investment book, unless someone starts a bon fire with over a half a million 282/283's.

As well you could buy X-Men 266 (nice book, have one myself) or you could buy the wayyy undervalued X-Men Annual #14 (came out prior to X-Men 266) which is stated as a "cameo" "brief" 1st appearance but he is in 10 panels of the book, fully visible with speaking and action scenes. 10 panels is not a cameo and not brief. With that said the collecting community doesn't like to be told they got it wrong and covet 1st appearances with character on the cover more.

Yeah.
Marvel Preview #4 (1st Appearance-magazine)
11,14,15, 18 (magazine)
Marvel Super Special #10 (Winter 1979) (magazine)
Marvel Spotlight vol. 2, #6 - 7 (May & July 1980) (comic book)

I mean there are a lot of magazine appearances prior, but still the 1st appearance in a comic book.

Ya, I was looking at the Marvel Previews for a while - but #4 & #7 have just gone crazy high since SDCC last year.

Thank you for the info on Marvel Spotlight though.

Its way down the list of appearances and they printed quite a few of them.
When the movie gets closer it will rise in value some, but its got too many magazines in front of it to rise really high in value.

My point was it's relation to hulk 271. I doubt it's print run is that much more than 271, and both are still comic book 1st appearances. Guess i was trying to make sense of something that doesn't always make sense. That previous statement regarding that book was kinda old too. While it can be purchased for cheap i've sold quite a few in the $10-$15 range and picked them up for $1-$3, so technically it did rise in value, just hasn't really caught on yet.

I dont fault your logic at all, but ended sales just dont see it moving yet. $2-5 sales for the most part. Closer the movie gets the more it will move. The only thing 271 has going for it more then MS6 is that there was what one Rocket Racoon magazine app? Star Lord had several is the only other seperation between the two.

Thanks for rephrasing what I originally said, lol. I totally understand its not currently moving, my comment on it was in May and trust me I sold a bunch in the $10-$15 range. Also doesn't always work out that the closer the movie gets the more it moves. Things move more when there is first buzz, like when Star-lord was officially announced as being cast.

Will X-23 be showing up in the X-Books soon?

Lowe said that he can’t say where, because he didn’t want to spoil anything. But yes. At that point Bendis made huge pointing motions to himself, so look for her to show up in either “All-New” or (more likely) “Uncanny.”
Nyx #3 is a buy. Prices have decreased a little. You can probably get it for $30-40. I bought mine about a month ago for $25.

Thing with books like Clone is just about ever speculator had/has numerous copies. Most early market activity is speculators. The general public isn't trying to pick up a book related to some show they have never seen or heard of.

Same thing happened with Walking Dead. Speculators/colllectors were picking it up, but the general public had NO idea the show was even a comic, in fact, some still don't, but now when they find out, they want it. That's when you'll see demand go up, as well as resale prices. It's just best to get some now and sit on them and wait for the TV show and hope it's a hit.
