The Frank Oz AOTC Widevision Yoda autograph card has reliably joined the $1,000 club (but obviously not the $1,500 dollar club. There's one listed for that with 42 watchers, but no one's pulled the trigger).

It's about time. I thought that card was super undervalued for years.

Isn't that fairly valuable? Or were you talking 4 figure territory?

I’m hoping to pick one up soon. Only see on eBay for around $500.

I did this too. Sold the Iron Man version for $460 on 3/7/14 and was so happy with the profit. 6 years later....massive regret. I don’t even remember what I spent the money on.

I was looking for a Jolie auto a few months ago, but decided against it. There’s just so many fakes out there. I had to take screenshots of all available auctions and compare to see if any were exact matches. Buying a sloppy, slanted signature is probably the best bet, but doesn’t look as good visually.

Paid $600 for one several months ago.

Strange that the Green Hornet Jay Cho card is worth more than Seth. There are 500 Jay's compared to 175 Seth's. I guess apparently, he is a pretty big deal in China.

There might actually be more Jay fans than Seth fans globally.

Yup, edited my quote before seeing yours. Not only has a US following but is huge in the Asian countries.

Jake Lloyd, who played Anakin Skywalker as a boy, has, I believe only two certified auto cards, a Galaxy 6 "Sketchagraph" and a 2012 Galactic Files single.
I had both at one point, with the Sketchagraph drawn by Sean Pence. I sold that one back when for a nice price largely due to the exquisite art on it, but lately the regular auto card also seems to have increased significantly in value to settle in around $150. (One recently sold for that, while another is unsold at $200, but with 6 watchers).

So you're saying now's the time I should crack my case of Galaxy 6 and case-equivalent (loose boxes) of 2012 Galactic Files?

Wow, that's a lot of money in sealed product!

I got 4 boxes of Galaxy 6 back when which was a case worth of hits and the Pence/Lloyd was in there. On Galactic Files, I think I got 16 boxes, or something thereabouts. A Carrie Fisher and some great sketches were the highlights there, along with the Lloyd.

Offer was taken don't feel like checking the price. Funny thing, this lowlife sold me the Pattinson auto through Facebook then pretended to lose it...to relist on eBay apparently. At least I got my refund

The value of the dollar is down compared to 10 or 20 years ago, so some increase in card prices can be attributed to that.

Look at that inflation curve starting in the 70s:

https://www.officialdata.org/us/inflation/1800?amount=1

This is probably a temporary boom in prices related to so many people with nothing to spend their time and entertainment budgets on, so it's created a renewed interest in trading cards (more for sports than nonsports).

I didn't really think about it, but I am spending much less money on eating out and no money at concerts, movies, conventions, etc. I am also spending a lot more time at home, since there's less reason to leave the house. I've even saving $150/month that I spent on a parking garage downtown for work, as my office is closed, and I'm working from home. There's no extra money in my bank account though, as all that extra time at home has me browsing sites like this one, Ebay, COMC, Epack, etc. and spending more money than usual.

The last time the economy crashed in 2008, things like trading cards and comic books took a dive in prices because everyone was out of work and needed cash. We still have people out of work now, so there are fire sales, but I guess there's enough people working to still see prices go up. Typically, when the dollar goes down in value and gold prices go up due to a bad economy, collectible prices shoot down. I took a bath selling my Silver/Gold comic book collection in 2008 because I had a baby on the way and needed the space/cash because values were way down then.

I also think there are a lot of people without money that are buying things like packs/boxes of cards on credit because they are bored. That's obviously not sustainable in the long run.

That's actually less than I would have guessed it was worth. Mind you it's not a market or set I follow but the Schumacher card from Batman and Robin sells for more than that, I think, and Cameron's had the big successful career.
