Panini wants to offer a $150 value for this redemption replacement: Thoughts?

I have an outstanding redemption for the following:

2014 Panini Classics Significant Signatures Bat Platinum #1/1 Giancarlo Stanton

Panini is offering a $150 value for replacement. Thoughts?

(I don't think Stanton is planning on signing for Panini and this has been in my account for 3 years.)

After looking at comps i think that is more than fair. Even some Topps 1/1's are not getting $150 and they are generally much more desirable than Panini.

Looking at his 1/1 ebay sales actually seems relatively fair in terms of "$150 value" but depends on what they'll actually send you/allow you to pick in return.

Examples like these are what make me think it might be a fair value.

Yes, it will look like the one on the bottom row, third in from the left.

You actually bring up my next concern....do I get to pick my $150 value, or do I have to leave it up to them? Anyone with experience with this, please chime in.

$150 seems a bit low considering it's a 1/1 relic auto of Stanton. If it was the end of last season or prior to the start of this season, they probably would be offering a lot more. I would want to be very picky with exactly what card they would issue as a replacement and make sure I was happy with that before accepting it.

I think you're right about being picky. I've asked them how that process works as far as getting the replacement. Do they select it, do I get some choices, do I give them preferences?

2) We can send you an equal value card from the sport of your choosing in 6-8 weeks

If the points are not impressing you, then at least let it sink in how they value things if you let them pick it for you.

I agree on that part. I'm having a hard time with the options. I'm leaning toward requesting the sport or team, and while I'm not a huge basketball collector, I feel the right selection for an NBA card might do the best on the secondary market.

i will suggest one thing. Awhile ago i hit an Aaron Rodgers auto from NT /10. I called them up after they sent me the email telling me it would not be fulfilled. They gave me a similar offer, to pick a sport or team...i asked if they would be willing to offer me some specific examples, and they said they would get back to me.

A week later they emailed back and offered a few options, one being a Peyton Manning auto /10 from a similar product, so me being a huge Peyton fan it was a no brainer.

Might try to push them if they could give you specific options.

I’ve never redeemed anything, but with any kind of rebate or bill or redemption in life, make sure you always know exactly why you’re getting! I’d make sure that they told you exactly the year product player serial........

Forget value. Ask for a 1/1 auto bat of a comparable player in return. Once they get you on value, they can send you sticker garbage.
