Default Aldon Smith suspended

Just heard the guy on Redzone say after the game his locker was cleaned out and 49ers owner said he wil not play for the 49ers. He is suspended indefinately and will enter substance abuse rehab.

Yeah, I heard that. Good for the Niners for putting his life before football. He needs to get his stuff in order.

If this is true, the Niners owner deserves a giant thumbs-up for that.

He should miss the season and have to pay for his actions. He endangered not only his but other peoples by his actions. It it time to grow up

Well, at least I applaud the niners for taking a very pro-active approach to the situation, especially in the wake of the Aaron Hernandez case. The kid definitely has a lot of growing up to do. Emphasis on the word kid.

Now I'm wondering how much of this was a knee jerk reaction from the brutal loss today, or if they planned it previously.

Also, we all know some team out there will take a chance on him, barring his legal issues are cleared...and impending nfl suspension(s). Any thoughts on teams?

I would think he knew as well as the higher ups and just wanted him to play today and then go off to rehab. I am interested to read more about it when they figure more out. I also agree, kudos to the 49ers

Yeah, because getting stabbed at a house party is normal. Must have been at the wrong place at the wrong time.

What does this have to do with Aldon Smith wrapping his car around a tree and getting a second DUI?

He got stabbed breaking up a fight at his own party. But like stated above, it has nothing to do with his DUI

I'm guessing because this game was against a playoff team and Thursday's game is against the Rams

In which case, I have zero respect for the Niners

Highly doubt it. Division game is more important than a game vs the AFC

New England sounds like a logical landing place if the Niners bail on him, Belichek has a history of making knuckleheads get their #@#@#@#@ in order.

I'd fire any employee convicted (or plea to a lesser charge) of a DUI. I have zero tolerance for that risky and inconsiderate behavior.

He's the only disaster story, but guys like Aqib Talib and LeGarrette Blount have improved since going there.
