Default At the hospital with my wife

My wife and I are due for our first child in 12/31. However, her water broke today and her provider told her to go to the hospital. Now we wait.

Any advice for me from anyone who has been through this waiting process?

Wish I could help -- have 4 kids but all were c-sections, though one was an emergency.

Good luck!!!

Keep yourself busy. We were there for 24 hours before she had the baby and it's kind of nerve racking if you don't have something to keep your mind off of everything.

Blowout forums on your mobile device will help pass the time.

If they have you waiting in a birthing room/suite, try to distract your wife when the screams echo down the hallway.

This is exactly why I am on blowout.

It sucks seeing my wife in pain(contractions) and feeling utterly useless.

Congrats... my wife and i have 2 kids... first was an emergency c-section, she was in labor for 19 hours before they decided it was long enough. Second was just on December first and it was a plans C section. Best words of advice is do whatever your wife asks, and sit back and wait... could be a long night for ya. first of many as well

Lol shipping would be delayed. I don't want to rack up negatives.

been through all of the good and bad of having kids, just be supportive, and be confident in your decisions, when you make a choice have faith it's the right one, don't let the doctors change your mind

but most places are going to take great care of you, enjoy your new christmas gift

^^^^This is probably the best advice the only other advice I would give is if you cant handle blood and all that stuff don't watch your kid coming out and definitely don't watch the afterbirth lol. For me I watched it all thou afterbirth and the stitching after. The only thing that blew my mind was the afterbirth no one told me what that was till I saw it coming out lol.

I have the iPad and the crappy hospital tv. Don't these TVs normally have some sort of trivia or something??

I am not much of a sleeper. I have had a big cup of coffee around 4 pm too. I should be all set.

I second this advice. This happened with me 17 years ago and I still hear about it often.

Enjoy the ride! Nothing like the miracle of birth!
