Default 1987 Topps Luis Aquino BLUE NAME variation

I am primarly into prewar cards and post more at net54baseball.com. I recently started looking at my Junk Era cards. I have found this card and wanted to know if it is a known variation.

It is a 1987 Topps Luis Aquino Blue Name variation. For those that don't know it is suppose to be a black name.

(The other cards in the scan aren't relevant to this thread)

The printing is just lighter, nothing special about it.

Have to strongly disagree with this. The name should be the same color as the Topps logo. This is blue and not black that is not just lighter. It may be due to a fainter black, but saying there is nothing special about it is like saying there is nothing special about the Frank Thomas NNF it is just a missing black.

Not really that far. It is only something for Junk Wax variant collectors. This apparently doesn't include you.

Are you being just as sarcastic as Bhenry? This is not black, it is blue. If it was black it would be the same color as the other blacks.

As I said I am a prewar collector. I probably signed up and quickly noticed there wasn't a lot of that here.

No, but if the 88 Comstock yellow name has a following, I am sure this variant would be desirable as well to the right person.

Looks faded black....but I'm not a expert. You should contact Jason Mars to see if he can get you in touch with his paper and print expert to verify.
