Or they know exactly what the problem is but their Legal folks are advising them to hush up until they can figure out a plausible blow-off.

I dislike Topps and will only buy bowman chrome and draft picks baseball, do I have to? No. Its my choice.

We make the decision to collect cards.

Top 5 Counterarguments so far:

1. I don't collect either player so I don't care
2. You weren't going to pull one anyway
3. They will be released at some point of the print run
4. Stop buying Panini
5. It was an honest mistake

And by shutting up and letting them do what they want, we let them make the decision for everything else in the future.

I just called Panini and didn't get anywhere with them. Lady said Beckham is signing them soon. I asked if the redemptions were pack out and she said she didn't have any information on that and transferred me to an answering machine.

Amen to that. Good thing a single company doesn't hold an exclusive license for all future product releases, or else we'd all be BONED.

Has the "industry voice" i.e. Beckett had any articles or posts about it?

I don't understand the whole "if you don't like it, stop buying" argument. They will be the only option soon. Why do people have to basically give up the hobby they love if they don't want to settle for this? How about hold them accountable for being shady pieces of poo and then maybe something will change for the better. Otherwise they'll keep ramming us raw if we keep presenting for them.

Talking about it will get you guys nowhere. Not buying their products will, but it will never happen. The big wholesalers would have to come together and so call "boycott" them, but this would never happen.

Well it has to start somewhere.

You know what gets you nowhere? Not doing anything and not saying anything.

You stop buying their stuff online/in stores, entering less GBs, stuff gets stuck on shelves. Stuff gets stuck, they won't want those from the distributors. Then the distributors will complain. I agree it's an enormous task and one that would have to get the distributors' attention to get anything done. But the constant "Nothing we do will help" BS is exactly what you shouldn't do and what all the big corporations expect.

MeetJ not to derail this but I just read your signature, there is a 06 A&G dual hulk hogan/danica patrick auto? Really? I have Danicas single signed card from that set but I've never seen a dual.

While i understand everyone frustration and the bolded is true for the football part of the hobby. The reason why it's not a monopoly which is an argument i hear all the time, is because you do have other options in the card collecting world.

No, just give up and ignore it. That's what we ought to do. Who cares, right?

That's the thing though. At this point, it seems that no one has a chance at pulling it.

He does, but I'm not sure what you would ask? The cards have been made. He may not have signed them yet but that's what redemptions are for aren't they?

Default Email with Panini regarding OBJ and Teddy RPA

Dear Nick,

We’ve met internally again today, and I can confirm with certainty that all the OBJ and Bridgewater redemption cards were packed out in the product. None have been held back for any reason, including rewards. Obviously the cards are very rare only numbered to 99, with very few parallels so extremely difficult to find, nonetheless I can assure you that the cards will be found in-packs by consumers.

I’m sorry you didn’t find any of the OBJ cards in your break, but I hope that the boxes still delivered the value that is intended. Although the OBJ cards are the ultimate chase, they are very rare to find, and there are many other cards within the complete collection that deliver value/reward.

Kind regards,

Mark

Which will be the same message anyone gets if they ask about it. Technically not lying. They're just not in the first batch. And we should probably merge this in one of the other ones.
