Michael Jordan was as close to the perfect basketball player as we will ever see. Ironically that maniacal personality is what also makes him a poorly adjusted terrible human. He's not going to make sense to the average person. He lives a life we can't understand.

The disappointment that he doesn't live up to your standards in person is what is weird to me. Stop with the man worship. We're basketball fans. Jordan was amazing at basketball. Buy his cards and collect him for that reason. You shouldn't have ideals about what a great guy he is. I wouldn't want him dating my sister or being a role model to my kids. He's not a great front office guy or owner either. He's great at basketball. Don't be let down when that doesn't translate to other life areas. I'm sure we're all great at something. Doesn't make us great at everything.

I am not a Jordan fan. I was just saying the amount of money he bet seems like a lot.

If I cared about how a guy was off the court, I would not like #33 for the Celtics, but yet he is my favorite basketball player.

Seems like a lot to you and I. Probably not to him. But it's funny to me this thread started and seems like a gossip column amongst grown men about what another man is doing on his own time with his own money then people comment about how rude the guy is to random strangers. Look at how he's being treated here. Id bet $80,000 it's not the first time. He's probably tired of dealing with little gossip girls. Get your own life, don't worry about his.

That's what you signed up for when you're a celebrity. Everything you do is public and magnified because people are interested.

He makes the equivalent of $450,000 per day, Its like the average joe $275 a day, betting $50 on a hand. A bit much, but not crazy.

Jordan isnt horrible, but he will flat out tell you that dealing/serving to him is your tip, he is pretty quiet most of the time. Now no tippin Pippen on the other hand is a complete attention whore. We had a door that you could go out of the high limit room into a private parking lot, but no, he has to go right down the middle of the casino floor with his security shoving people out of the way, yelling no autographs or pictures.

I agree. Somebody mentioned OJ earlier in the thread, well, there's just another example that great athlete doesn't equal great person.

Is it happening? Are we attacking and saying negative thing about M.J?

I despise him, so seeing other people attack him gets me..OHHHHH..god you don't even want to know.

Overly dramatic statement of the day.

Yes. Because he's out there beating children and causing ruckus in the general public. Care to share more of your incredible insight?

You must be a real hoot when you're giving eulogies for fellow friends and family.

This is closer to the truth than you think. When I was two years old I asked Michael Jordan for his autograph, he responded to me in a vulgar, hurtful fashion. I remember him saying something along the lines of, "No you can't, you little b*tch!"

He then picked me up by the throat with one hand, the way Predator picks up Arnold Schwartetzetztgner as Dutch in the movie. Jordan then proceeded to punch me in the face no less than 10 times.

True story. I swear.

What I mean is, he's always going to be chasing that rush. He can't calm down and really retire or relax. What made him the best ever at basketball he can't turn off. That drive won't go away. Look at his hall of fame speech how annoyed he was about it being over. He wanted to grab Isiah Thomas from the crowd and back him down for a fadeaway right on stage. You're the one that said he was overrated at basketball. To me that's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I actually love Jordan and don't care what he does. It's none of my business. But in his personal life he's not perfect. But that doesn't bother me, neither am I.

As for your comments about eulogies, I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I was defending Jordan not adding to the negativity.

And he also used his heavily armed death satellite to blow up a bridge in order to intimidate the UN into surrendering all of eastern Europe to him.

He also farted on me while I was on the ground in pain. He had a lot of fiber that day.

You referred to him as a mal-adjusted, terrible human. I'm not quite seeing where you defended him. But feel free to correct me if wrong.

Chasing a rush through gambling is not synonymous with being a terrible human, unless he is gambling outside his means (which, obviously he is not) or using it as a gateway for drug vices...or stealing from others to help feed his addiction.

Again, I'm not quite seeing where your statement about him is in any way defending him.

Do you barge into high roller poker sessions and say 'you're a terrible human being chasing a rush'...then follow it by saying...'hey, I'm defending you...I love your game!'

At an all star weekend I watched pippen's kid yell at another kid (both single digit ages) "NO AUTOGRAPHS!!!" and made the kid cry
