Default Biggest Prospect Busts?

Didn't start paying attention to baseball prospects etc. till like a little over a year ago maybe. Well i want to know who the biggest busts were and how much their chrome autos were going for at the hype time?

I know there were quite a few from the 2005 year with bowman that didn't turn into much. Chris Volstad, C.J. Henry, Andy Laroche to name a few from there. I am not sure on prices 2005 is right before I got back into collecting. Blake Dewitt comes to mind also.

Here's a list of superfractor prices for 2006 to 2008.

Beckett News How hot are Jason Heyward's baseball cards?

Something that's pretty interesting to note is that while superfractor prices in general have skyrocketed, highly rated prospects basically have to be superstars for their base autos to increase. Tim Lincecum is selling for the same price he was when 2007 Bowman Chrome came out and he's won multiple Cy Youngs.

It depends on how you choose to define "bust." I, along with many others, made nice profits off of many of the players already listed in this thread.

Yeah. I remember selling an FMart base auto for 60 bucks back in 2007. Nowadays he's rocking this statline.

Same - I had extremely high hopes for him. Glad I sold most when I did (had 60+ FMART chrome autos at one point) but I was VERY wrong about how he would perform as he progressed through the Mets system.

He's another example though of a player that can be a "bust" in most all senses of the word and you can still turn a profit on them.

Interesting to see what prices Dante Bichette Jr was pulling 2 years back (die hard yankee fans + father hype connection). You can get his bc base autos for 99 cents now. Lol.

Bubba starling 2011 BC was going for 100+. Specifically, remember his ref gems going for 175+.

Yeah, it's possible. But a pitcher coming off of TJ and looking more like he may be more of a relief pitcher doesn't bode well for his future prices.
