Default 2017-18 SPA 1st release to include McDavid YG Buyback Autos

Saw the article on Cardboard Connection regarding this years SPA release.

Obviously will be #d to 97.

Damn, that's pretty sweet.

I love how they show a Jumbo in the preview. Jerks.

Have to do something to help draw sales since the top 2 draft picks I believe are signed on with Leaf.

UD got lucky because Boeser, Keller, McAvoy and now even DeBrincat are more interesting than either Hischier or Patrick. It wasn't a great draft class, but the rookie class is much better than expected so far.

Where’s K13 to tell us McDavid sucks? He’ll be here...

Kempe and Kerfoot have been pretty good as well!

Do the young gun buy backs maintain or increase in value pretty well. Was looking at a Kucherov and just didn’t know how to value it.

They do ok but they’re not considered rookie cards so I’m not sure about future value.

I consider it a rookie card.... they aren't reprinting it but instead authenticating a hard-signed autograph on it.... in some ways I prefer it to an regular YG. Still need a Horvat YG Buyback auto....

I'd consider it a rookie card too. I chased after the Bure and Jagr buyback Young Guns cause I still considered them rookie cards. I guess it doesn't really matter as long as you enjoy the card. If you're trying to re-sell it, then it's up to the buyer if they're willing to pay for the uniqueness of a signed young guns card.

I think as long as the buyback isnt altered with a current year UD stamp I'd consider the buybacks a RC as well.

If it has a current year stamp i think its an insert for that year.

I have yet to hear anyone say " My collection isn't complete without a Jack Eichel Rookie Year Leaf auto"

The Leaf cards just never caught on. No big surprise.

I agree! Total sleeper product. Nice to be on this side for a change instead of paying $125 for a box, I was snagging them for $65 as quickly as I could when my LCS was liquidating them due to "Poor Rookie Class"

I'll say it. My Jack Eichel PC would not be complete without this card:

Proudly displayed on the top shelf of my display case.

Nice looking design, clean signature, even looks on card, if I collected eichel I’d be happy with it too.

It is on-card (a valid complaint about Leaf's Eichel autos is an overwhelming majority, especially the past 2 years, are all stickers) and as a BU alum, it was a must have in my collection!

Eichel's contract will run out eventually, then UD will sign him, and then he can sign buybacks of all his unsigned rookie cards.
