Why didn't you mention any Scandinavian countries ?Could it be because they have a better quality of life then we do?

Yes, I was being facetious. Those countries I mentioned, despite being run by brutal de facto (and in the case of North Korea, actual) dictators-for-life, have somehow all found the favor of someone who apparently dreams of being the same.

Sweden projected to be a third world country in 2030. Quality of life now is great though, who cares.

Clickbait nonsense usually found on shrill, end-of-the-world pimping websites using this gobbledygook study from 2010:

http://ww.rrojasdatabank.info/HDRP_2010_40.pdf

Not surprised no source was given for the claim. And check out the United States in that study (Table 10 on Page 40, to be specific). Not exactly projected to top the charts in 2030, either, and yep, below three other Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway, Finland) for good measure. (Iceland is not on the chart at all, for whatever reason).

On the above sure, but as far as the autocratic, human rights abusing troika I mentioned, nothing whatsoever is different with them. Each is more corrupt than any country in South America. There is no actual voting for their leadership, just sham elections when elections are even held. Their various gulags are still full of political prisoners and the average citizen in each of those countries is starved of food and/or information in the service of enriching the chosen elite.

Even so, they all used to be in the same boat with Venezeula, referred to by derisive nicknames such as "Norks", "ChiComs" and "The Evil Empire" by the very same people who still take every opportunity to denigrate Venezuela. So what changed with these other countries? They learned the art of simple flattery, which goes a loooooooooooooong way these days. Maybe Venezuela should just send a big box of chocolates. It just might work...

So it's all oil? Explain that to Haiti, Sudan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, N. Korea, Somalia.....
