They legit have $49.99 for those Luke Skywalker Titanium Black Series figures?

Damn, both Wal Mart and Amazon are asking for less than $10.

I didn't check the scanner to see price (discount off that of course) but the tags appeared to be accurate for what little was left.

I bought the BattleBots arena for my niece and nephew, Batman Vs Superman Rock'em Sockem for another nephew and a drumset for my granddaughter right before Christmas last December. First time I had been in a TRU since I was a kid.

Toys R Us “clearance” prices are a joke. I took this pic during the first week of the going out of business sale. All action figures were clearance priced 10% off. As you can see, they actually marked up the figures nearly 10% with a pricing gun prior to the 10% off sale.

They still left the shelf tag showing the original price of $32.99. They marked up the product to $35.99 so when you take the 10% off, you pay $32.39 or .60 cents off. What a racket. This wasn’t the only example, there were tons. Still, there were people loading up their carts with these “clearance deals”.

Oh well.

When they asked where do you see yourself in 5 years it gets pretty quiet.

They've been $26.99 in more recent years.

I fell victim to these when I started collecting again last year. I saw a couple blasters for 25% off, then they rung up and we’re still over $20 lol

They jacked up prices a lot, and then discounted those jacked up prices by 50% and in the end, you were maybe saving a couple bucks.

The wife and I bought a stroller/car seat combo for $105 on 40% discount from $180 I think, it was selling at Wal Mart for $120.

I really wanted some of the Disney signs and massive Link poster they had, but they didn't sell those.

I remember the rows of video games as a child.

Rows upon Rows.

It was an experience.

RIP.

Lol, so embarrassing on TRU's behalf. Also embarrassing that people don't realize it's not a deal af all. Amazing what advertising a deal can do to people.

Exceedingly so. We were very lucky to have these stores throughout our entire childhoods. I'm also bummed for all of the people who lost their jobs from this.

Toys R Us also donated a ton to the Toys For Tots foundation. Its gonna be a huge loss for us.

I liked this one from the gallery ... or maybe it was just the shock of seeing this section -- one previously jam-packed with Funko Pop! toys -- so empty.

The empty but still lit up video game cases, too.
