Interesting question, I think both numbers are similar.

But I think Judge cools down on the K's. Altuve likely around 235 on hits ... I'd go there.

I think it's Altuve by far. I agree with Chapman, about 235-240 hits for Altuve. No way Judge gets up to 235 SO. I would love it if he did get that high, but don't think it will happen.

Judge did just break a record though didn't he?

He did, most consecutive games with a strike out.

Hes also going to break ted williams rookie walk record. The big question is, will altuves actual production be higher? Because right now for all those numbers altuve has, he doesnt cross the plate close to as much as judge, nor gets others across the plate.

judge is struggling with K's.
who cares. he's a rookie in PRO BASEBALL.
It's fine.. He's still a stud and he'll get it figured out.

keep hating!

I'm not hating, just a realist. Judge has high K and high HR. Is he talented? Yes. Everyone from Rookie Ball to MLB is talented. Is he more talented than others? Yes he made it to MLB. Is he Trout/Harper/Altuve level? No. He is a rookie who had a great first half, and then turned into what most expected him to be. Does he have potential to compete on those guys' level? Doubtful. He is a 25 year old rookie. In his rookie year he is setting records for strikeouts. He is learning at 25 the lessons that others have learned before turning 20. He will end up being injury prone due to his size, he will have a harder time learning due to his age, and he will find it hard to not swing for the fences because he loves the attention.

I hope he gets high SO because I am not a Yankees fan. I need them to fall in the wildcard so my Twins have a better shot at getting it!

You're using the term 'hating' pretty loosely, even for you.

He's always gonna strike out a ton, but you're actually right (for once in your life), it's probably fine. He'll still be a good player despite striking out more than everyone else, but it's gonna cost him from being the best player he can be.

Point being? Not what the OP was asking. Do we really need to point out on a regular basis how many HRs Judge has. Anyone on this forum understands this. They also understand how many came first half and how many came second half. Altuve is not a HR hitter, not really what he is paid to do. He hits his fair share but that is not what is expected from him.

Why must every Judge nut point this out instead of answering the actual question asked?

OP you really triggered the Judgeheads way to go...

Just tell them to get out of the thread like they do to us in the AJ thread, they're clearly offended

None of these even remotely touch base with what the question that was presented at the poll...

It happens every time, doesn't it? A man can't even ask a Judge related question without backlash

Judge looks clean.

Altuve looks more like he would get high often.

Altuve will finish with more hits and also finish with the MVP that Judge basically handed to him.

Judge didn't hand him anything

Altuve 100% deserves the award and earned it himself if he gets it...

Hits are neat. Rbis and runs are neater

This is correct. The standards set for this rookie are comical.

Not saying he doesn't deserve it, but if Judge had at least kept up a little with those first half numbers it would be a close race. Judge has been horrendous the whole second half.

Yes, that's correct... but he didn't. And Altuve kept up on MVP pace. It's a marathon, not a sprint

To be fair, losing Correa and Springer really helped Altuve as well. I'm not so sure it would be fair to call him the MVP if those guys hadn't gone down with injuries.
