Thanks, great info. I was a little concerned that they may throw in some Hornets vets like Mourning or Larry Johnson, but the list of signers makes this worth a purchase for me. This could definitely be a new trend with other arenas like Palace at Auburn Hills as a candidate for future release. I also wouldn't be surprised if they were also looking into NCAA team and tournament arenas. Maybe even a classic release featuring the ABA.

Looking at the e-pack posts (specifically Goodwin), I’m not surprised at all. They’re making plenty of money for virtual cards alone. Crazy how much is being spent on that stuff. I tried a few and ended up with dog cards and map relics

Yes and I wonder how ticked off shops are when people can get packs online instead of walking into their stores

I know the LCS i frequent hates it. He's having a hard time selling Young Guns hockey RCs. He used to be able to sell even lower end guys. He says he can't move any but the top guys now. COMC is flooded with cards from the ePacks at dirt cheap prices.

Are they really? I know you can get some cool autos and stuff but what do you do with a dog trading card? Is there anything you can do with 99% of the stuff from this Goodwin thing ? I just never understood this release and who buys it for anything else than the athlete autos.

Not sure if anyone has posted them here. Just saw these from a dealer in China. I have to say they look pretty good.

Here’s the question- is upper deck really missed bc of the great designs or is it bc of the great players?

That’s a computer generated one. Not the actual one.

I know, but the others are pretty close to how they really sign.

Isn't Stephen Curry a Steiner Sports exclusive now? How can he be featured in a UDA product with autograph?

It's the actual product shown. See the footnote below each card.

Yeah..... these are going to sell out quickly.

A couple things come to mind as I see that promo... feels like UD is walking some very thin lines here. By the letter of the law, these probably aren't classified as cards.... but show me another non-card product that comes in packs, boxes, and cases, where NBA players, wearing NBA uniforms autographs and jerseys can be found at random. The wording of the promo feels carefully chosen... but this feels like a basketball card product.

I think collectors are really going to like this product. I don't think Panini is going to feel great about it, and if I was them, I wouldn't either. I'm no legal expert, but if these are super successful for UD, I foresee a legal battle. You don't spend millions of dollars to get an exclusive license just to have a competitor find a simple work around.

Will beckett grade these? Does that make them "cards"? What is a card? UD has made "cards" out of wood before.... even game used floor.... so is the only thing that makes these not cards, the size? 5-7 "cards" have been made before. Are there not stats on the back? "cards" have loosely been defined for decades. These feel like "cards" to me.

The next question.... a simple one..... it took how many years for UD to come up with this idea? Why? Answer seems to be, because it walks that line.... and perhaps wasn't worth the risk. Wonder if there is so little to lose at this point, that the attitude is, "we have nothing to lose".

Court King box toppers are 5x7 and are “cards” do size alone isn’t a factor—look for Panini to close this loophole if they get the next NBA exclusive

It is really nice to see MJ in a Bulls Uniform. I think these are incredibly cool. I wouldn't gamble $500 to get an MJ (although I'm sure LBJ and Simmons make you more than your buy in back) but this is a great idea and a simple, attractive design. Will be very interesting to see how the market for singles is. 5" x 7" doesn't typically appeal to many collectors but you never know...pent up demand for MJ and LBJ autos coupled with Simmons Autos in a pro uniforms might make people give up any ill feelings on the size.

Those signatures are facsimile mock ups. Despite what the footnote says. I like them quite a bit. The size will pose a problem to many people, but it's UDs way of holding on. And getting something out of that Simmons license.

People have been begging for UD or anyone NOT Panini to jump back into the game. They have, to the best of their ability law allowing, and people are complaining.

Seems to me that not all Panini NBA exclusives are memorabilia exclusives - I might be wrong though.
If it's indeed true, however, I guess that Panini might do the "autograph and memorabilia" route for all its NBA exclusives going forward, similar to what it did with Kobe Bryant when the company first took him away from UD/UDA.
