Default 2017 upper deck marvel premier

From: http://www.cardboardconnection.com/2...-trading-cards

2017 Upper Deck Marvel Premier trading cards represent the top end of what this side of the hobby has to offer. Think of it as the comic card equivalent to something like Exquisite.

Returning for a third set under the Premier banner, the first since 2014, each box has a pair of sketch cards, a premium insert and two limited base cards.

A 55-card base set may not sound very big. But when you figure there are just two per box with the possibility of parallels, it’s not going to be an easy task. All base cards use original art that hasn’t been used elsewhere. Standard versions are numbered to 125 while parallels come in Blue Foil (/50), Gold Foil (/10) and Black Foil (1/1).

Sketch cards come in a couple of different formats. The first is either a multi-panel card or one that’s over-sized. Multi-panel sketch cards are essentially booklets. Featuring two, three or four panels, they open up do deliver not only more art but different dimensions as well.

The over-sized sketch cards measure 5 x 7, similar to the ones that were randomly inserted recently in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

The second sketch card in each 2017 Upper Deck Marvel Premier box is a more standard single-panel piece of original art.

Premier inserts come in three different themes. The most common are Die-Cut Bronze Busts, which are inserted 1:2 packs. LTFX versions are numbered to 15 copies.Classic Art Shadowbox cards (1:3 boxes) mash up Marvel characters with iconic artwork using the multi-layered approach of shadowboxes. Finally, there are Hellfire Club Portraits sketch cards. Numbered to 30, these are framed.

2017 Upper Deck Marvel Premier trading cards at a glance:
Packs per box: 1
Cards per pack: 5
Boxes per case: 6
Set size: 55 cards
Release date: TBA

WHAT TO EXPECT IN A HOBBY BOX:
• Over-Sized or Multi-Panel Sketch Cards – 1 Total
• Single-Panel Sketch Cards – 1
• Premium Inserts – 1
• Base Cards or Parallels – 2 Total

No mention of ePack, but this set is perfectly built for that format. This stuff looks great. I can see people going broke. Hard to chase it all.

Noooooo, and to think, I was starting to feel like I actually had a little spare money at the moment .....

Super pumped to see this release officially announced, wonder if there will be epack achievements with this one as they will be super hard to get, only 125 maximum base sets, requiring the purchase of a minimum of 23 boxes - assuming perfect collation, this is going to be fun!

I know, right.

I've actually passed on every UD set since Jusko MM. I'm ready.

Just hope distributors/sellers learned from last Marvel Premier and not initially price these way above market price. IF the quality (sketches/inserts) is that good, the boxes will reach ~$250-$300+. But don't please start them @ ~+$100 right away.

Also hoping for an out of this world artist list with the last few UD sets obviously taking steps back from sketch cards.

ya that preview art loos great really love the 70s style avengers sketch. The character selection will be important as I see this more chasing a few favorite characters and their inserts rather set builders.

It is buy an old school comic book artist. Would love a Milgrom for the collection.

Glad they went back to the original type booklets. Hopefully some X-Men characters were allowed but, I would think not and will be an easy pass if so.

I LOVED working on Premier '14 and was excited when UD asked me to do sketches for Premier in like Sept '16. Unfortunately, the blanks didn't arrive to me until mid-May and now I need to crank them out quick. I think (HOPE) you'll like them as I'm having a blast.

Well we know the artist lists will be good if they have Mr Crosby talents in the mix.. Glad to see some marvel from you. Wonder when pre orders start?

Thank you. This will be my first Marvel set of any kind in over 2 years. I'm having a blast with the cards so far too with a few new 'themes' like the 'Famous Fisticuffs' from Premier '14.

GTS's release date just says: JULY

I hardly think this will drop next month. But that's what it says on there site. Gotta think it would be a few months away at the very least though..

I thought sketch cards went out to artists last year?

They (GTS) sent out an updated solicitation for this a few days ago. The release date didn't change but the info that did change was it went from allocated to "extremely allocated".

Well, I hope BO gets some and Ian is able to secure at least a case for a group break. These sets are primed for that format. Would never spend $200 on a single pack myself.
