Offense cooled off a bit today. Happens. So excited to see what the playoffs hold. Would love to see a Houston/Cubs WS.

This is why I love Altuve, he hits against anyone. Two homers against Chris sale and adds a 3rd to become the 9th player in MLB history to hit three homers in a playoff game.

Nice win. Two more to go. I was getting nervous with Verlander and his high pitch count but seemed like he quickly got out of the 5th and 6th inning. Six games as an Astro and all 6 games he's been great.

Gotta feel good about this one. Correa and Springer did nothing, and Verlander was good but not great and still won handily.

Just remind everyone the Astros will win it all this year solely because I sold my Altuve red ref back in January. By the end of October it will be worth $25k lol

Book it

Moving on to the ALCS!

Tons up guys stepped up big. Altuve had the best series, but Yuli was unreal as well.

Yuli was great. He just needs runners on base when he hits! Or players behind him needs to hit after to drive him in.

Which team do you prefer, Yankees or Indians? I think they were 5-2 against the Yankees and 1-5 against the Indians. Either way, it'll be tough.

Go Astros!

tough series either way. if the yankees win, they will have some serious momentum coming in. regardless shaping up to be a long series. hopefully we don't have multiple pitchers get blown up early or we won't survive another round.

Really happy for you guys! The Astros are a fun team to watch. Really not one unlikable guy at all. Plus Springer is a hometown boy!

Normally Yahoo is a cesspool, but they occasionally come up with something great.

I thought this was a pretty awesome view into the mind of a young guy playing his first postseason series.

Read this last night. It was great insight into a special moment of his young career.

NY Bullpens were worn during the extensive innings in the 5 game series with Indians, easier for the Astros to crack some extra hits.... Astros will go to WS.

I like it! I don’t like Beltran being back in the lineup. Much rather see Gattis.

Well, you'll get your wish in game 3 with Sabathia on the mound. Astros line-up has not done well at all so far. I like moving Bregman back to the 2 hole, getting Reddick in at six and Gurriell up to 5.

But for God's sake Marwin Gonzalez ... learn to lay off the slider. 90% of the pitches thrown to him this post-season have been soft and he's swinging over the top every-time.

while i have no complaints about being up 2-0, they can't expect their pitching to keep the yankees to 1 run every game. The astros seriously need to break out of this offensive funk.

Offensive funk, or just some damn fine pitching from both teams.

Yea, I wouldn't say funk. Yankees threw their two best, Astros threw their two best; Astros won both games.

I very much want to see Ground Chuck go in and put a strangle on this series. If his hook is on, he has a great shot.
