Default Ebay selling

So I've been a small seller on Ebay over the years but recently I've been liquidating a few collections - so I am constantly listing 50-60 items a week.

My question is this - Is it the norm to get stupid idiotic questions over and over from buyers?

I have bought on Ebay for many years and I simply click "BUY" and pay.

I get questions like (actual questions) just over the last few days:

Can me buy cards from you?
Give me free shipping?
Is it OK to pay in a week later?
Is it a costume card? (the listing states - Costume card)
How much do it cost for in Argentina me peso me?
What is combined shipping mena?
Can you give me a discount on the card I want?

If it wasn't so sad it'd be funny.

The lower priced my items are, I found the more idiotic the buyers

So true it hurts. I think I've had, maybe, 4 or so negatives in 20 years on eBay. Every one was from stuff that sold for less than $5. I can remember 3 perfectly - one was a Duce Staley Fleer Ultra Rc that sold for like $1.50. 2 more were a couple sketch cards that sold as a pair for under $5 combined. In both instances the buyers sent messages saying they never received the items. In both cases, I just immediately refunded them, not even worried about it as it's such a small transaction. All left negative feedback. The one for the sketch cards was something like: 'How does the post office LOSE mail? Terrible."

Generally, the only time I will message a seller is when asking about combined shipping or requesting a combined invoice. With that said, your descriptions are pretty abysmal OP and you could, at the very least, be benefited by adding combined shipping rates/info.

Right.

It's my fault.

1. Pictures of cards
2. price for shipping - cheap imho at less than $6 int'l mostly
3. combine shipping with invoice

What else do you want?

Never said it was your fault. I looked at like 5 of your listings and saw no combined shipping info, so gave you advice that would keep me from contacting you if I wanted to purchase items from you. In the future, I will only respond to your threads with 100% agreement if that's all you're looking for. My apologies.

Better they ask dumb questions now then return it as "not described" because they didn't ask their dumb question.

More than likely, sellers outside USA. English isn't their first language, and they may be using an online translation program. My .02: don't ship anything ininternationally. At all. EVER. Simply select "no international shipping" for your listings, and exclude ALL countries except the USA.

Been selling regularly on eBay for over a year. 100% positive feedback, and never had a problem.

If they ask more than 2 questions on a low priced item then from my experience they are going to be a problem anyway so they find their way to my BBL.

Or just use the global shipping program

Yeah well I am Canadian.

Selling to the US is "international" for me.

Which is a scam from Pitney Bowes that unfairly punishes non-US buyers.
Americans don't care because it doesn't affect them, but the rest of us do as we get double charged for the same item.

Wouldn't that be seller greed since sellers can opt out and are not forced to use it?

Sure but EBay promotes it like crazy on the American site .com but almost never on the other sites like .ca or .uk

Wait what? Of course it's promoted on the American site. It's the main one every one uses. 99% of Americans don't shop the Canadian or UK eBay yet 99% of Canadians and Brits shop the US site. There's no need because there's no demand. The need is here because the demand is here. For every 1 foreign buyer there is 1000 US buyers.

I know you'll never grasp it, but it's there to get US sellers to ship to you guys because without it, most of us won't bother with it.

My question to you is - why don't you buy and sell on the .ca site?
