Anyone have their guy going on opening day?

I hope you didn't select March 29th for your Nationals or Reds player - RAINED OUT! Which also means that now March 30th is a possibility. Bryce Harper against Homer Bailey in The Great American Bandbox? Yes, please! But... could it get rained out again? Weather.com says morning rain possible, but the chance of rain plummets from there on out. Forecast still calls for clouds, so it's no slam dunk, but it looks good that weather wouldn't play a factor. Scherzer on the mound for the Nats sounds like a terrible matchup, but he did give up 22 bombs last year.

im pretty stoked i landed a goldschmidt and a trout among the few packs i bought thus far.

will probably go with goldy in a favorable matchup at coors or something. ill use trout when i go to an angels game.

It would be. The trick is that you have to wait until one is scheduled. In the past, they mostly occured on makeup dates from rainouts. Perhaps some are straight up scheduled this year with the attempt to get more off days in the schedule?

But this contest gives you that flexibility. According to the rules, you can make your selection as late as the day before. Pretty cool.

Another thing to consider, though, is that often stars get one of those games off as part of their rest/recovery. Just something to keep in mind depending on the player/manager/organization.

Probably smart to do this. Even star regulars get "day off" every now and then, although that isn't usually known until the day of.
Avoiding day games after a night game might be a good idea.
Waiting until the day before also lets you pick your pitcher and play or avoid lefty/righty matchups and such.

I have several that I will be doing and started last night by doing my high quantity (20+) players then realized I made a bone-head move by doing a Reds player for today. Oh well, there was a chance even had they played I wouldn't win.

I did get tired of scratching and looking up players to confirm they weren't on the DL, so I only got 20 different cards entered last night (Yes it did include Rizzo and Springer). I didn't get to the binder page with Stanton, though, so I did miss out on that one.

I do wonder if we will ever get to use the Napoli cards, though, as he is on a minor league contract.
