I never understood complete rookie sets. Mass depreciation, ESPECIALLY if you are buying right after the product hits.

I actually got the brockers from someone off BO for a nice amount of 150

edit: I also think hightower was numbered to 10, but can not remember, which I have 2 of if anyone has a decasto for trade
The Hightower variation is SSP /10. That's an awesome card and I'd love to add one to my Hightower PC

Well, as crazy as it sounds, I think it has something to do with that insane "hobby" mentality.

These nutcases actually collect them for the fun of finishing the set and have 0 regard for resale value.

Straight up weirdos, man!!

no. he's got to be in retail along with Kevin Minter and Jarvis Jones (who coincidentally may just be SSP'd- only seen one auto and it was a /99 that sold for over 80 bucks i think).

So I have a question since I dont usually follow contenders that closely. Do they have guys exclusive to hobby and then others exclusive to retail? Or could they release maybe 25 autos of someone in hobby, then another 500 of the same player in retail?

from what i can tell, there are some guys that are retail exclusive but it seems that a few leak into hobby boxes.

so they seem like a SSP and pull ridiculous amounts until retail drops later and the prices plummet. at least thats what happened with Greg Zuerlein last year.

I was second guessing myself every hour turning down 3 separate $300-310 offers. I had a feeling somebody would pop the BIN eventually.

Gratz on that. I was hoping for the same on my Mellette Variation since two sold for $250 each, but no go. Another sold for $50

Anyone have an idea why there are a handful of redemptions for it when there are active cards out also?

I think a lot of people are overlooking the fact that you can kind of see a pattern forming with certain names that not a single one have hit the market.. Ogletree and mingo among a few.. Then there are guys where maybe one or two of their cards have been listed.. Mathieu base (which i just got the only one thats shown up in hand i bought off ebay).. Guys like fuller.. Slay.. A handful of variations etc...

If i were panini during a down year i would personally load ip the product with as many of the bigger name players as possible and make more of the no name guys sp/ssp...

Seems so far that is the pattern that is developing,

That is the 4th one to sell.... It is probably not that SP. $8, $40, $25 and $250. I would think the person who paid the $250 is the one sweating it. He is also one of the individuals that offered me $300+ for my Chance Warmack. I would think he knows what he is doing.

the $25 didn't sell, he told me that there was an error in the listing, but didn't sell it to me.

Quick question for all of you:

If you had the chance to buy a Kayvon Webster Variation Auto for $150, would you do it?

Thanks and any help would be appreciated!

Does it seem like it's taking forever to get print runs out this year?

I may be wrong, but I thought print runs were released about a week to a week and half after release last year? I remember they did them in waves, like all weren't released at once, but I thought the list would be out by now?

Maybe they are just waiting longer to keep secondary sales high since this RC class doesn't compare to last years?
