Default Closed? Really?

I called Panini this morning because I have 4 durant redemptions that are 4 months in waiting and wanted to see if they can swap them out for others. When I called I get a recording that Panini is closed until November 6th. WTF?

That is strange. I hadn't heard anything about a temporary closing.

Funny how people on this board bitch and moan about Panini non-stop, but people continue to fork over top dollar for all of their products! I don't get it!

(OP this is not directed at you, just a general statement I am making since I see so many people complain about Panini.)

Agreed. I think we all have an addiction to the industry and I honestly yearn for the days of when I started collecting (92-93) when it was awesome that you pulled just a plain rookie card of the number one pick.

Also things were a hell of a lot cheaper.

You make good points. While I agree that some people are addicted to opening boxes and cases I also think that the lack of competition sucks. Back in 92-93 people had the choice of at least three companies to buy cards from (Upper Deck, Fleer, and Topps). Now it's all Panini. They have no one to compete with so they don't have to go above and beyond. Also for those who are addicted or want to bust the occasional box or case they have to do so with Panini. No other choice for NBA cards unfortunately. I mean unless you decide to not bust at all which for most isn't easy to do.

No competition makes things very easy for Panini, no doubt about that. I stick to singles for the most part, the occasional box break, so its easy for me to look from the outside and cast judgment on those who line Panini's pockets

I plain out refuse to buy any Panini baseball product, I don't see why anyone would buy it. I know Topps isn't perfect but they seem to be a hell of a lot better than Panini.

Please tell me they went out of business.

One of most ridiculous and unprofessional companies I have ever dealt with. Another reason to delay outstanding redemptions. Guess that will back them up another 2 months on LIVE stuff others seem to be getting.

Give these guys a break, seriously! Who else do you think has to slap all these sticker autos on the cards or cut up "event worn" jerseys? They all could be closed while they track down Fat Lever, Jeff Withey, Fab Melo and Nolan smith for more on card autos. :-D

Wish I could work for a company that could afford to be closed for a week and offer no customer service or warning.

I think it is funny how we like to get killed by companies. Panini, ebay and USPS. None of them even have "customer" service.

If I am not mistaken, the entire company is at the international HQ in Italy.

I think Nolan Smith is playing in Israel, so tracking him down takes time.

He's saying that all the people who normally work in TX for Panini are currently at their international HQ in Italy.

They are all at a meeting at corporate headquarters in Italy. As bad as the market is right now, they need a new strategy.
