Theres no one in this years draft who's better so there's that. Hopefully the Pats find a way to keep him but I don't see it happening. He's worth more than a #1 pick if he's your franchise quarterback for the next 10 years.

Sample size for Garappolo is still really small. He did look good, but you have to remember it is the Patriots. They make just about anybody look good. He could be somebody starting QB or he can be the next Flynn, Osweiler, etc. Qbs that played a few good games on a great team and hit it big in free agency.

If you are completely sold on him, he is worth a 1st round pick. If you have any doubts, then I would drop the trade offer down a round or two.

Brian Hoyer was an undrafted rookie for a reason. Ryan Mallett was a crackhead.

Don't forget Matt Cassel who couldn't even start a single game in College and was a 6th round pick for a reason.

Anyone else that is apples to oranges to Garoppolo? Rohan Davey perhaps?

Random...

Who is you guys exactly? Chicago? Or are you talking Cleveland for some reason even though I never even mentioned them?

You did a lazy comparison. That's all.

Mr. Trebek .... who is Pat Mahomes? both have the same talent, rely on a "gimmicky" offense to produce .... and Mahomes can be had in the 2nd round

Here's a hot Chicago Bears take. Cutler will be a free agent because no one will trade for him. The Bears retain Matt Barkley who is just as competent at the position but for far cheaper. Bears playoff team at 10-6 next season.

He was good without those qualities, and HOF'er with them. He had all the physical tools, he just suffered from stubbornness, over confidence, and apathy.

Not if he averages 2 INTs per game like he did last year.

Side note: How many different O-Coordinators have the Bears had since Cutler came to Chicago? That certainly never helped.

The Bears should think about trading for him. Either they should make a move for Garoppolo or not bother drafting a QB this year and continue the bottoming out for next year's draft.

The Bears are picking 3rd overall and will likely have their choice between Trubisky, Watson, Kizer, and whomever else they could desire. I would take my chances on a guy who has NFL experience and has been taught how to read a defense over options that are extremely flawed. Sure, one of the top six options might turn out to be good in the league someday, but when your team is bad enough to draft in the top three picks, you most likely have a bunch of holes on your roster and plugging a QB in that hasn't mastered the Center to QB exchange isn't going to fix much. You don't waste a top 10 pick on a long term project and you most certainly can't force one of these quarterbacks to be a franchise savior just because you're drafting that early and you need the position.

But as a Lions fan, I say sure, don't trade for Garoppolo. Go ahead and draft Trubisky and stay at the bottom of the division. And Minnesota should go into next season with the check down king as their QB. The Lions will need the wins, I am sure.

I much rather get garapolo, then draft a Qb like Watson at number 3. Or draft a random defensive player that I'm never a fan of.

I say let the Texans trade the #25 pick and Brock Osweiler to NE and then they can sign Jimmy G for $75 million over 4 years with half of it guaranteed.

In truth though, I see Chicago and Cleveland making a serious play for Jimmy G and with Cleveland having a bunch of picks they may offer the most to the Patriots. Romo can affect where Garoppolo goes too.

The offseason is such a wonderful time, all the hopes and dreams and wishes and speculation of who goes where and for how much only to have the SAME teams really have any shot at the SB.

Im not sure what game you were watching but i saw Jimmy shredding the Dolphins with 3 touchdowns and 250 yards passing in less than 2 quarters before he got hurt. I think it was 21-0 i believe when he left the game in the 2nd quarter?

Define gimmicky offense?

AFC? Yes. But in the NFC, since SB XXXVI (the 2001-2002 season), 3/4ths of the NFC has been represented in the Super Bowl - Rams, Buccaneers, Panthers, Eagles, Seahawks, Bears, Giants, Cardinals, Saints, Packers, 49ers and Falcons. The AFC on the other hand... yeah it'll be the same teams.

Must be the elite receivers they have carrying the quarterbacks in NE. Belichick is the master at drafting WR's
