Default The Rise of Deshone Kizer

Kizer has recently been named the starter obviously. I was just looking at some of his sold listings on eBay over the last couple of days and holy sheet, his stuff has shot up drastically, especially since being named the starter. Stuff like this never ceases to amaze me.

But the one thing we all know is that it's the Browns and well.... they're the Browns. In terms of card prices, will he be the next Brady Quinn (cards shoot up and then drop immensely) or the next Derek Carr (has a good season and his stuff shoots even higher)?

Browns aren't the Browns anymore

Njoku, Coleman, Crowell and the best offensive line in the AFC?

Kizer is going to be a star

I'm biased but I'm totally on board

Only the Browns would name someone a starter after going 6-18 in a preseason game lol. To be fair, he had no competition with Osweiler and Kessler on the roster.

Didn't watch the game I see. Box scores definitely tell the whole story.

This is NOT the Browns of old.
They are new and improve.

The Browns aren't Primetime TV down here in NC. I figure there had to be some drops in there. I'll be happy to eat my words if Kizer does well this year but I just don't see it.

I won't believe it until I see it. Obviously, I want to see them succeed because they've been downtrodden for so long.

They look good on paper but still have to transfer that to the field (the Eagles' Dream Team comes to mind, although they are fairly different from that Philly squad as they were built mainly through FA). Anyway...

As much as I wanna see them do great, it's still the Browns. Hopefully they can change things. I am a big believer in Hue Jackson though (would gladly trade y'all Pagano for him!) and their roster oozes potential but I gotta see it to believe it...

Kizer went to high school 12 mins from my house. My friend's sister actually used to date him. I could have had a connection to him lol. I'll for sure be following him, and hope he can lead the Browns to a decent year.

I think people want to be in on the ground floor if and when the browns find their future franchise qb hence the prices. I don't know if Kizer is the guy but he has as good as shot as any of the guys they have drafted since they got a team back. This fan base is starving for a poster boy qb and true face of the franchise. Let's say kizer is that qb and he puts up decent numbers, takes them to the playoffs and actually wins a game, today's prices will seem like huge steal.

I've been to the area multiple times recently. 12 mins is what it takes, assuming the traffic isn't bad.

True, true, I would agree with that. It wouldn't surprise me to see some cards hit $1k if that were to happen. Obviously different circumstances, but Kizer playing well, leading the Browns to the playoffs and winning a game or 2, could be the equivalent to Aaron Judge's meteoric rise in baseball.

I was going to say this as well. The Browns of old are no more. I'm not a Browns fan, but I hope they are on the way up.

Just because it's "only the Browns" doesn't mean you should expect to get the cards cheap. The Browns are actually improving and I am absolutely not surprised that Kizer's cards have shot up in price. He will be a star in the NFL. Sounds like you probably should have jumped on his cards a few months ago.

Keaton always said, "I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him.". Well, I believe in God and the only thing that scares me is Deshone Kizer.

As a Titans fan I laughed at your best OL in the AFC comment!

You say they're improving, but like I said in the OP, I won't believe it until I see it. I want to see them succeed, I really do, but I just can't believe it until it actually happens. They can add all the quality FA's all they want and have phenomenal drafts, but it's all meaningless unless they prove it on the field.

And I don't do a lot of prospecting anymore, I just wanted to see how far his prices had risen after being named the starter.
