Default MJ would take Kobe over Lebron

Michael Jordan would pick Kobe Bryant over LeBron James - ESPN

I just think it's too early in Lebron's career to call him better than Kobe.

Let's see where Lebron is in 6 years

Before this becomes a troll thread i hope people would compare lebron prime and kobe prime... Not the kobe now at brink of his career.

Kobe has more offensive arsenals than lebron and Kobe being a closer has been as great as MJ in the clutch while Lebron still is not that consistent in clutch.

Lebron is the best player in the league now though.

So jus throwing that out before people start comparing the 2 players now

Solid post! This thread will likely turn to junk soon, but you are right.

Jordan is just a hater...

He's had negative feelings for Lebron for the longest, and most people know it. What he means is, Lebron IS better, but it's way too early to say. Further more, he KNOWS and can feel that Lebron will pass Kobe, and maybe even him... but he refuses to say it What else is new.

I can't wait till Lebron gets his second so the haters, including Jordan, can SHUT UP!!!! Once he has two, he'll be on his way..... I call 7!!!!!!! Yes, 7! Come talk to me when Lebron retires.... i'll be right here waiting.

Jordan is scared Lebron takes his spotlight as the best ever. LOL

The guy is 28 and way ahead of Jordan in terms of accolades.

Remember Jordan got his first ring at 28

Let's just get this over with now

-Kobe shoots too much
-Kobe only won because of Shaq and Gasol
-Kobe's team wins when he doesn't shoot
-Kobe's only concerned about his stats

-Lebron is a player unlike any in NBA history
-He makes his teammates better
-He almost won with a garbage team
-He shoots such a good %
-He is so unselfish
-He is bigger than the game
-He once cured a fan of cancer by throwing him a jersey
-He rides his bike to games which means he has to be a cool guy
-He is the chosen one and did not get that tattooed on his back, he was born with it
-He's such a good dancer

Lebron is a better closer, Kobe has a really poor %

You can point to all the stats you want, but I've seen player polls numerous times where Kobe is the most feared player in the closing seconds of a game.

Take your stats and enjoy them

I'll go with the eye test and what his peers think

MJ couldn't even place Kobe in the list, but he said that Kobe is the top 10 guard in the history. Seriously?

Kobe is alot more clutch than Lebron. Lebron started becoming clutch this year, but doesnt have the offensive arsenal that Kobe has. Lebron has to win at least 2-3 more rings before we start comparing

You start comparing from your first sentence. You didn't even wait for 3 more years.

Kobe is not as clutch as people think. It's funny how people say Kobe is so clutch. They must have missed all the articles with stats showing he really isn't that clutch.

Tristan it may be time to post a link about to that Kobe Lebron website. Haha

Could it be jordan has had his share of "girl troubles" just like Kobe, so he can relate?.... just saying.

Makes no sense going back and forth he said she said.... this will be discussed once Lebron retires!

Post all the links you want!

Here's the stat I like!

Quote:
WHO DO YOU WANT SHOOTING WITH THE GAME ON THE LINE?

Kobe Bryant, Lakers G 74%

Kevin Durant, Thunder F 8%

Dwyane Wade, Heat G 3%

Ray Allen, Celtics G 2%

Dirk Nowitzki, Mavericks F 2%

Based on 166 NBA players who responded to SI's survey
The poll is from 2011 by the way.

Also the Jordan quote is nice too!

So you guys post your fan sites, stats and whatnot, but NBA players and the Greatest of all time surely carry more weight then a stat, no?

James' response at shootaround Thursday, as the Heat prepare for their showdown with the Thunder:

"It doesn't matter to me. If you take Kobe one and I go second, it doesn't matter. I don't get too involved in what guys say about me or if you take Kobe or if you take LeBron. As long as I'm on the floor and I make plays for my teammates, I don't do what I do for other people's approval."

MJ picked the one that has no chance of winning 6th title.

Nice!

The man loves the game and that's it... doesn't care for the drama.

2011 vs 2013, huge difference when you consider Lebron was only 26 and was the most hated player in the game at that time lol

Lebron has gotten only better, its amazing to think he is his own worst enemy
