For the person asking above about whether sales work, just know COMC buyers are trained to know when a sale is good or not. So so many people run garbage sales with jacked up prices.

On the flip side, if you run a true blowout type sale you will see tremendous action. I have sold 600+ in my sale that I started last night. Honestly, I'm surprised even more haven't gone but they are trickling out at this point.
I figured it made more sense to start at a lower %, and then every two days or so raise that discount until most of the current inventory is gone. Bring in new inventory, let it sit for a month or so at regular prices, rinse and repeat. My prices are already the lowest on COMC before the sale even starts.

Do you guys do something similar?

Just to chime in, it all comes down to how much of a sale it is.

I automatically accept 20% all the time. I usually only run sales at the end of the month at 30-35% just to get a little boost and hopefully clear out some stuff that's been sitting. I don't expect to sell everything, but it helps.

I've been clearing out my port a little over the last week and running sales at 50, 60, and now 70 percent.

I've been efficiently moving cards...close to a thousand now.

If you are a major seller on COMC. Sales are a must. Its amazing how much your sales go up. I think when I did my last drop for 30% off to 40% off I went from about $300 a day average for the few days prior to the sale to $6274 in the first 12 hours of the sale. The only thing I did extra was contact a few of my customers and put a post in the spam area. That reminds me I might have to do another sale soon.

Where do you get the inventory to do this?

Yes, scale them up and it will move inventory. That's what I typically do. I usually start around 25% and run up from there.

i auto accept at 80% off and i always price at the lowest initially (unless i am purchasing inventory and flipping during a sale, i will probably mark up but still have my sale price lower than anyone else's until my sale is done and then adjust accordingly).

if sales are slow i will adjust down pricing and if they still arent going i will run sales for about a week to build up funds. more recently i have been using those funds to build more inventory to flip in hopes of creating something stable so ill see how that goes. I usually start off with a 25% off sale and increase daily by 5%.

on a side note, does anyone sell through COMC exclusively? if so, do you use the mailbox feature for items you might purchase online outside of COMC?

Yeah, rarer cards will sell through COMC on Amazon and eBay. There was a user on COMC that started with a W that would buy a bunch from me. PSA had really been hyping the Pokemon stuff in their magazine, so sending in first editions is worthwhile. Yugioh doesn't sell at all. Old pre 1995 Magic sells too.

Almost exclusively. Used the mailbox more before they raised the price. Gets it loaded quicker. Use it now for small lots that are resell only.

i just moved to a location that doesnt have a decent LCS around, my previous location had a good one close to my house. So i was buying a lot at the LCS, but i was accumulating a ton of base that i basically just got rid of when i moved. new place has no room for storing hardly anything for cards so im experimenting with using COMC exclusively and going through the mailbox route for items i buy online (mainly group breaks and i inform the breaker i dont want vet base). so far i have had 4 shipments sent to COMC through the mailbox, 1 of which was processed. seems to go well aside from the fees which are actually worse when having a smaller batch because of the $3 flat fee for all batches, but it gets my stuff listed faster and i dont have to list and ship everything myself like i when i was doing ebay a lot so there is a time value saved there. plus ill end up having cards stored/sold there that i probably wouldnt have even thought about sending that might actually sell well. so ill just see how it goes for a while, but i am thinking this will be a good alternative for me.

1) How do the older cards sell on Comc? I have about {40-50} 2 and 3 row boxes of 2000-2010 All sports ~ inserts, game used, auto, serial #, base, etc
2) Can I get a bulk deal if I send 50,000 cards at once or is it .30 per to list?
3)What happens if they don't sell, lets say after a year and I decide I want them back do they charge .25 per card to ship back to me?
4)Are they backed up? or are things getting listed on time; I know a while ago they were really backed up.

Appreciate any and all help.

1 - There are a lot of factors that determine if they will sell. Obviously the more popular a player/team the more likely someone buys. The price is also a huge consideration.
2 - They don't do bulk deals.
3 - If you ship them back, the cheapest is $3.99 + .25 per card.
4 - They've been good on processing for quite a few months now.

They have been really good about not only hitting due dates, but getting out some decent chunks well before they are due. Its nice to have a flow here and there instead of waiting until the last minute(sometimes literally).

Price matters. If you have stuff at fair prices, it moves.

No bulk deals, which is the way it should be. Keeps us all on an even level.

If you want them shipped back....prepare to pay dearly. Price them like you should and you wont have to worry about it.

Agree with all above. Don't send in anything you're going to want back.

Do I need to price individually? I thought they have some sort of bulk pricing tool; or can't I set to their suggested price or is that is going to be to high. I was hoping to just send a few boxes, auto price them and try it out and than run a huge sale; Do I need to fine tooth comb them for popular players, or if they are cheap enough will everything sell? For example 2001 BAP Signatures Series Auto's, 2004 Sweet Spot Swatches etc?

I'd be willing to do additional work, screening, pricing, etc, but at that point aren't I better just listing on ebay at .99 auction?

If you are confident in the cards and do a good job screening the stuff. I would put as much stuff on Comc as possible. The cards are pretty much worthless unless you put it on some internet platform. The key to Comc raw sales is having little if not any cost basis into the cards and getting your listing fees back ASAP.

Some very good points and information, thank you. Here's a very small portion of a list I was getting ready for ebay. Do you think this kind of stuff would sell on COMC? Or would I be wasting my time and money even trying?

Odds on those selling on Ebay: .001%

On COMC: .002%

Double 0 is still 0.

There's like 3 cards on that list that are worth more than nothing.

I don't really think you'll have great luck selling those anywhere.

Ah so you are hawkdynasty. Always amazes me how many graded cards you have.

This is also true for any card you buy in reseller mode and then decide to ship to you?

Small part of a list, but what do I do with it, cherry pick it and dump it? or any suggestions? ebay .99 auctions?

Fitzgerald and Favre are examples of things that could go to COMC. Base/common inserts/rookies of common players get sent to Goodwill for a tax writeoff. Common memorabilia and autographs can go into lots on Ebay and sold.

So I'll cherry pick a few thousand for COMC and see how they do;

Good Will; never thought of that; what kind of write off can I get? They will give me a receipt right? Is there a maximum amount I can donate per year?

Thanks.
